t2_How would you describe your country or region and the people who live there

Moldova is a country with a great history, rich traditions, and many beautiful places. Many people call it a horn of plenty. The nature offers you spectacular views of forests, caves, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, natural reserves. One can also find here unique natural monuments, ruins of ancient cities, monasteries and several fortresses. We are very proud of our Codrii. They keep lots of secrets about the history of our land. The two medieval Moldovan fortresses are on the River Nistru. In the medieval period, the fortress of Soroca was part of a huge Moldovan defense system. The fortress was built in 1499 and it is also famous as being the place where the Moldovan army, commanded by the famous statesman Dimitrie Cantemir, and the Russian army. Also, numerous monasteries are on the Prut and the Nistru rivers. Nowhere in the world can you see so many wells along the roads, in villages and towns. There are lovely vineyards full of delicious grapes and fruits here. It even looks like a bunch of grapes on the map of Europe. In Moldova, wine production is not only an industry, but rather a cultural tradition preserved for over 3 thousand years. Tourists can visit underground cellars and even participate in the wine production process. Houses in Moldova are another special attraction. Moldovans believe that everyone would plant a tree, built a house and dig a well. Our people are kind, jolly, hard and hospitable. They are also very artistic. People all over the world know our folk music and doinas. This is a country where I am from and I love it a lot.
