The King has misplaced the Queens recent order of grain, cloth, and wine and is offering a handsome

reward for their return by the end of the day. Being an opportunistic person and having the day off, you decide to make the most of the occasion. Unfortunately there are many robbers in the area. You have to find the goods and deliver them to the King before sunset whilst avoiding and fighting robbers and other ruffians. Setup 1. Place a Monastery tile on the table, set aside the City with road tile. 2. Shuffle the Roads and City tiles into separate facedown stacks. 3. Shuffle the Dev cards, and discard the top 2 cards facedown. 4. Mark your starting Attack (1) and Health (6) scores. Your max health score is 8. 5. Mark starting time of full hour glass. Roads Turn Sequence 1. Choose an exit route, which could lead to a new area, or one youve already been in. 2. If this is a new area, draw an road tile and attach it to the road you're coming from with connecting a road.

3. Draw a Dev card, even if you're revisiting an area. If there are no cards left, see Time Passes. Look at the text beside the clock corresponding to the game time i. Follower You may draw the next Dev card and find the follower shown on the bottom right corner of the new Dev card. If you choose not to draw a card, you do not get a follower. ii. Robbers/Cathers See Combat below. iii. Event Add or subtract health as noted 4. Follow the instructions (if any) about the area tile, after the Dev card has been resolved. Instructions are on the last page of the rules. Special Areas The Monastery (not starting), Bend in the road, Straight road, Shielded three side city, and the Shielded corner city are special areas. The goods are hidden on the Straight road, and must be delivered to the Shielded corner city. In either area, draw and resolve a Dev card as you normally would, then draw and resolve another Dev card. The second card describes what happens when searching for or delivering the goods. If you are still alive and in the area after resolving the card, you have found or delivered the goods. The secret meeting with the king card does not have to be resolved in the Shielded corner city.

In the Monastery, resolve a Dev card as you normally would, then you may draw the next Dev card and find the item shown on the bottom right corner of the new Dev card. If you choose not to draw a card, you do not get an item. This only works on the pulled Monastery not the starting Monastery. On the Bend in the road or Shielded three side city, if you end your turn in the area (i.e. you dont run away from robbers), you add one to your Health. Moving into the City The only way to enter the city is through the Four way road. When you exit, place the City with road tile next to the Four way road tile, then draw and resolve a Dev card as usual. Turns progress in the City as they did on the Roads. Time Passes The game starts at full hour glass, and time passes as you move around. A phase has passed each time you need to draw a Dev card and there are none left. Note the new phase, and use this phase when resolving new Dev cards. Reshuffle the entire Dev card deck (including the two you discarded in the previous shuffle) and discard the top two. When a Follower card is the last card drawn; time passes normally, reshuffle, discard, and then draw the first card to determine which follower was found.

Cowering You may, at any time after the turn sequence has completed, sneak behind a bush and hide. You regain 3 Health points, but you lose time. Discard the top Dev card, do not resolve the card. Combat When you enter combat with a robber, subtract your current Attack score from the number of robbers you face to find the number of health you lose in defeating the robbers. You may never lose more than four Health points in one combat, and you may never gain Health points in a battle, even if you Attack is higher than the number of robbers you face. # Robbers - Attack Score = Damage Running Away When you draw a Dev card with robbers, you may choose to avoid combat by running through an exit which leads to an area you've already explored (including the area you just came from). The robbers swipe at you as you leave, taking away 1 Health point. You do not draw a Dev card for the area you're running into. You may Cower in this area. You may move on normally. Draw a new Dev card for the area you next enter, even if it is the area you just ran out of.

Followers You may only have two followers at one time. If you want to pick up a new follower, and you're already have two, you must leave one of your current followers. The follower takes off when you leave the area (i.e. If you come back to the area, you do not find the left follower). As long as you do not leave the area, you may leave a follower to gain another, and be able to gain the left follower again, as long as you never have more than two followers at one time. You may only use one followers help (and one Attack bonus) at a time, though you may have two. The goods count against your two-follower limit. Pig Eat this to add 2 Health points, or feed Dragon to keep for one more use. May only be used once. Wagon +1 attack and can have +1 follower Bubba A little help from a friend. +2 attack Builder Draw and place two tiles choose where to go. May only be used once and only in City. Count Friend in high places. Run away without taking any damage. May only be used once. Fairy I do believe. +1 health when cowering. Dragon We grill em. Kill all enemies. May only use once. Unless fed Pig.

Robber Trails/Doors Sometimes after you place a tile and attach it, there won't be any exits available. It is also possible that all exits have been explored without finding a necessary area. When this happens, 3 Robbers make a trail/open a doorway in the wall of your choice in the area you're currently in, after all other events in the area have been resolved. You must fight them normally. You may not cower before a Robber Trail/Door attack. Ending the Game The game can end in many ways. You could be eradicated by robbers (die in combat), an event could cause you to lose your last Health point (just die), time could run out (all Dev cards are played in the empty hour glass without delivering the goods), or you could win the game (see below). Winning the Game After youve delivered the goods to the King , you are rewarded with gold and a royal escort and youve won the game. In game terms, after you resolve the second Development card with the King, as long as youre still alive, youve won.
