Dear future host family,

I am Raúl I’m 27 years old. I’m from Chile ,but I live in Spain. Let me tell you something about my
land. I was born in Rengo. I grew up in this sunny and quiet place, with plenty of beaches and good
people. I lived here with my parents, Raúl and Marcela , and my brother, the older one _____, and the
younger ______, until 2011. In september of that year, I moved to ____to study the degree
of_____________.

I have lived __ years in _____ and __ year in ______. It has given me the opportunity to meet many
people of different places and live with different people too. Being away from home and deal with very
different people has helped me to mature and grow as a person. I have learned to be more patient,
tolerant and I am able to communicate better to resolve misunderstanding.

What can I tell you about myself? I am a responsible, nice, really patient and empathic girl. In my daily
routine, I’m organized, resolute and dynamic. I enjoy having quality time with my family, friends, and
with my dogs too. I love dogs. In fact, I have been a volunteer in a animal protection association where
neglected dogs are cared for 2 years. In addition, I am a person who wants to do many things, I like to
discover new things: people, places, cultures.

I like travelling, I believe that it´s a good way to meet new people if you travel alone or you could
know better your friends if you travel with them. I enjoy dancing, mostly latin or trending music.
However, I usually listen to different musical styles and I love attending concerts too. I like reading
and doing crafts in my relax time. Also, I use to playing sports both in gym as outside, in the beach or
other nature places.

As for my experience with children, I am a leisure and recreation monitor and I am working in a sport
camp every summer (August) since 2008 and I am part of an entity called ‘Esplai Xino-Xano’ since
2009 and we are going to a camp in the mountain every summer (two weeks in July).

In the summer camp (about 90 boys and girls and 20 monitors) I am like a ‘mummy’ for the boys and
girls during two whole weeks and I am responsible about the children from 8 to 10, the youngest of the
camp. During two weeks, I help them to wake up, have breakfast, lunch and dinner, to take care of their
clothes and their personal objects and to go to sleep. We do a lot of activities, like crafts or games. We
teach them to do the housework, wash clothes by hand and, the most important for me, we teach them
values like responsibility, respect to others and to the nature, sharing, thank and love.

In the sport camp I work with children from 3 to 12, from Monday to Friday (9am-1pm) during August.
I usually work with the youngest children, from 3 to 5 years old. With them we do psychomotor games,
we play with different balls (football, basketball, tennis…) and we go to the swimming pool one hour a
day. I help them to have breakfast and dressing and undressing to go to the swimming pool. Once a
week, we do a cycling tour around the village.

This year I am working like a monitor in the school of my village. I am working with children from 3
to 12 years old. I help the students from 8 to 12 years old doing their homework and I do psychomotor
games to children from 4 to 7 years old. I am also working with babies from 1 to 3 years old in a
kindergarten every morning. And since March I am teaching English to 2 years old’ children. It is so
funny! We say good morning to everybody and we sing songs! And finally this year I am working like
English teacher every afternoon after school. I teach to children from 7 to 12 years old, separated in
different age groups.

I have taught and I taken care of children also in my town, both boys and girls. I´ve been particular
teacher with a 10 years boy for a year. I helped him to make his school homework. Moreover, I taken
care of a sweet 3 years girl, I used to pick up her from school and we spent afternoons together, playing
at home mostly, because she was really patient kid. In the opposite side, I take care of two brothers, the
older one is 3 years old and 20 months the little brother. They have a high level of energy, so the time I
spend with them we go out, to the park or the beach, it depends on the weather or I look for
entertainment activities for them. I needed to be creative so they do not get bored.

Also, I would add that I have driven since 2010 when I got the license, reason why I could be a good
option if I´d have to take them somewhere.

The reason why I decided to do this is the pleasure of making an adventure in another country in a
family atmosphere, which I really value. I am really excited with this opportunity, I know that to live
with your children and with you, in a different country like USA, will increase my personal background
and I´ll learn a lot. Likewise, I´d love to become a part of your family.
