Six-month candidacy to register for and pass the FLC Exam

Submit FLC registration form and payment to AICI HQ

One-year candidacy to submit completed portfolio to the designated reviewer

I. Professional Preparation (3 points) II. Business Identity (5 points) III. Consulting Experience (5 points) IV. Membership (1 point) V. Portfolio Professionalism (4 points) VI. Participation in AICI (2 points)

20 points are required for the FLC Portfolio to be approved.

I. Professional Preparation
A. Image Industry Relevant Training (min. 20 hours) Training must be in line with the AICI Core Competencies (pages 16-18) MUST include section I.D (Technical Knowledge) Each entry must be of at least six (6) hours Training provider must be reputable Include supporting documentation according to the guidelines

B. Continuing Education (min. 10 hours) Attendance at Conferences, Seminars & Workshops Sponsored by National or International Image Organizations or Associations

C. Business Development (min. 0 hours) Finance, business management, etc., sponsored by the Small Business Administration or other business organizations or training companies

II. Business Identity

A. Professional Appearance (1 point) B. Business Identity (2 points) C. Business Promotion (2 points) This section will be evaluated by the AICI FLC Committee. The applicant does not total points in this section.

III. Consulting Experience

You are required to submit proof of having conducted Image consultations or presentations with 5 paying clients Use only the evaluation form provided in the FLC package Submit evaluation form completed by client and invoice Evaluations must be mailed to you and must remain sealed 1 point per consultation/evaluation

IV. Membership
You are required to have been a member of a recognized professional image association (e.g., Association of Image Consultants International) for at least one year. Include proof of membership for the past year. Only completed years are counted 1 point per full year of membership

V. Portfolio Professionalism
This section will be evaluated by the AICI FLC Committee It applies to both physical and online submissions The applicant does not total points in this section Criteria: clarity, organization, completeness, aesthetics 4 points are required

VI. Professional Participation in AICI

You are required to have been an ACTIVE member of the Association of Image Consultants International. Review the Leadership Points System included in the FLC Application Guidelines for a list of all roles that will be considered, and points awarded for each role. Only completed roles will be counted. 2 points are required

Tips for Successful Applications

Ensure that you meet ALL requirements Read and follow the portfolio submission carefully Submit only copies (exception: client evaluations) Submit your complete portfolio two months before nal deadline For online submissions, send one PDF le Ask the clients to mail the evaluations to you Submit your portfolio to your current designated reviewer

Maintaining Certication

After you earn your AICI FLC

Must earn 2.4 CEUs every three years Must pay certication renewal dues every three years Must hold the AICI FLC designation for at least one year before becoming eligible for the AICI CIP designation
