Inventor of Algebra
Scientific Contributions: In the twelfth century, Latin translations of his work on the Indian numerals introduced the decimal positional number system to the Western world. His Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing presented the first systematic solution of linear and quadratic equations in Arabic. In Renaissance Europe, he was considered the original inventor of algebra, although it is now known that his work is based on older Indian or Greek sources.[6] He revised Ptolemy's Geography and wrote on astronomy and astrology. Notable Work: "Algebra" is derived from al-jabr, one of the two operations he used to solve quadratic equations. Algorism and algorithm stem from Algoritmi, the Latin form of his name.

He was an impartial writer on custom and creeds of various nations, and was given the title al-Ustadh ("The Master") . He also made contributions to Earth sciences, and is regarded as the "father of geodesy" for his important contributions to that field, along with his significant contributions to geography.

Father of modern Medicine & Pioneer of Aromatheraphy Major Contributions: His corpus also includes writing on philosophy, astronomy, alchemy, geology, psychology, Islamic theology (kalam), logic, mathematics, physics, as well as poetry. He is regarded as the most famous and influential polymath of the Islamic Golden Age. Notable Work: The Book of Healing, a vast philosophical and scientific encyclopaedia, and The Canon of Medicine,which was a standard medical text at many medieval universities.The Canon of Medicine was used as a text-book in the universities of Montpellier and Leuven as late as 1650. Ibn Sn's Canon of Medicine provides a complete system of medicine according to the principles of Galen and Hippocrates.

Scientific Contributions: He worked with NASA to assist in the planning of scientific exploration of the Moon, including the selection of landing sites for the Apollo missions and the training of astronauts in lunar observations and photography. Currently, El-Baz is Research Professor and Director of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. He is Adjunct Professor of Geology at the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Geological Society of America Foundation, Boulder, Colorado, a member of the Board of Directors of CRDF Global, and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Washington, DC. Notable Work: Participation in Project Apollo 11 of 1st Landing on Moon in 1969 Notable Awards: NASA's Apollo Achievement Award, Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal, Certificate of Merit - World Aerospace Education Organization
Ahmed Hassan Zewail (Arabic: , IPA: [md sn zewel]; born February 26, 1946) is an Egyptian scientist, known as the "father of femtochemistry", he won the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on femtochemistry and became the first Egyptian scientist who won Nobel Prize in a scientific field. He is the Linus Pauling Chair Professor Chemistry, Professor of Physics and the director of the Physical Biology Centre for the Ultrafast Science and Technology (UST)[1] at the California Institute of Technology.
