There are not words to adequately describe the month of August, but here are just a few pictures! God has been preparing us all summer to be a family that welcomes others with the authentic love of Jesus, and its been such a joy to finally see it all in action. Part of that preparation included a weekend leadership retreat right before thousands of students arrived on our campus for freshman orientation. We took ten of our student leaders to a campground with no TV, internet, or cell phone service, and we had a blast as we spent undistracted, quality time with one another and with God in worship and prayer. Staff and students alike were refreshed and strengthened after a long summer. We prayed for each other and our campus as we committed the coming year to the Lord. Hours of practical training also equipped students with tools to lead more effectively. We left with unified purpose and expectation for an amazing year! After the retreat, these students came back to campus a week early to represent the XA family at information tables. Hundreds of freshmen and transfer students filled out cards with their contact information, and our leaders are still diligently using their time to connect with each one and invite them to be part of our life groups. These groups of 8 -12 people create a safe place for Christians to support, encourage, and challenge one another while intentionally inviting friends to come and explore what the Bible says, even if they dont believe. Its our desire to see people grow in relationship with God, other believers, and the lost, as we live out our identity as Christs Ambassadors! For Christs love compels us...We are therefore Christs ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christs behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:14, 20

>> For strong friendships among students with Jesus as the focus. >> Strength, rest, and wisdom for student leaders who are investing their time, energy, and hearts in younger students while balancing a class load of 18+ credit hours! >> Salvation for new students seeking Truth!
