Gods Burning Love...
In November 2011, July came to a Chi Alpha Thanksgiving Dinner. She was an atheist from China, but she was lonely and eventually joined a Chi Alpha life group. In April 2012, her apartment caught fire. Thankfully, she had joined her husband Lu on a fishing trip. Unfortunately, she lost everything in the fireincluding years of her research and work for her doctorate. Days later, July went back to search the rubble for any items that survived. There was nothing but ashes and two Bibles that were given to her by Chi Alpha! She called Linda to say, Its a sign! Its a sign from God! Linda was able to show her its not just a sign, but proof that Gods word of Isaiah 40:8 is true: The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever." While others in the Chinese community refused to offer to help July and Lu recover from their bad luck, Chi Alpha students and local churches were pooling money and resources together to help them purchase food and other necessities. They were amazed by the kindness of Americans, but we made sure they knew the kindness flowed from our citizenship in heaven, as Gods love compelled us to act on their behalf. Gods burning love continued to pursue July and Lu. Theyve searched Scripture and attended church out of desire to be in the presence of God and His people. At our annual camping trip this month, July and Lu put their faith in Jesus Christ as the one true God who has forgiven them of all their sin! Many other unsaved friends came on the float trip and heard July and Lu testify of Gods persistent love in their lives since November 2011! Thank YOU for praying and making financial provision for me to be here to continue providing opportunities for lives to be changed for eternity! Be Blessed! With love, Brooke
