I couldn't ignore how uncanny these two films are. How cute. And what makes it so cool is how the historical settings of each film play into it. I didn't think pre-WWI European folklore characters could be so cool. And it was no wonder where Marvel and DC got their ideas from.

The films, though long in duration, well satiated the cinematic taste buds with rich character backstory, sensible action, and an eventful plot. Neither of which fell short. To contrast the films, in my opinion would be dismissive of these dashing tales of epic proportions.

Allan Quatermain VS. Captain America These men are patriots in their own rights. Exuding leadership and quality of character, with passions for their crafts. Their views are very classic and traditional, and they tend to be the moral fabric of the teams in which they preside.

Captain Nemo VS. Iron Man Both known for their superior advancements in science and technology, these men are quite self-serving despite the utilization of their genius for the greater good. Far from noble in character, their weapons and combat skill prove to be noble in and of themselves.

Mina Harker VS. Thor Conflicted with a luxurious plight of immortality and a duty of righteousness, their powers are harnessed by supernatural folklore. Their stories are intimately woven with their other immortal counterparts, being Dorian Gray and Loki, yet it's their lustful and brotherly dilemmas the drive them to victory.

Dorian Gray VS. Loki These cynical, sinister, insidious craftsmen of glorious cunning, can do nothing but accept their fates of deviousness and deceit. Their nefarious, good looks serve them no justice in their quest for mischief and retribution. Their vulnerabilities are clouded with illusion and their witty nature keeps them afloat with the times. Hard to kill, but harder to die.

Rodney Skinner VS. Black Widow Walking the fine line of displaying nobility with a mischievous twang, these two do not serve themselves, nor their team; but their mission. Mysterious past, undecided allegiance, and sneakiness makes the term spy an understatement.

Tom Sawyer VS. Hawkeye These gunsmiths wield their lethal prowess with guided abandon and uncompromising fashion. Making their marksmanship look so easy, as if hitting a bulls-eye was an accident. They hold allegiance dear to their team and country, but also to their mission...spot on.

Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde VS. Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk Well boys and girls, now for our final parlor trick. A kind, humble genius, but when agitated; morphing into a monstrous, gargantuan, beast of unbridled rage. That's always amusing. Who would think such benevolent gentlemen would harbor such a ghastly behemoth. Their inner turmoil replicates the conundrum within all of us. The calculated balance of demure and debacle. Yet their woes may serve just as
