Ease of Use
User-oriented GUI
Features Simplified menu which is composed of ribbon menus and tabbed dialog boxes. Benefits With the aid of guiding figures, even a first-time user can easily understand the functions, options and how to use. Enhanced context menu minimizes mouse clicks required for modeling and makes the work flow easier and more understandable.
Automatically assign the boundary conditions from the Context Menu Similar/associated functions are offered in tabs within a single dialog box

Ease of Use
Features Automatically generates co-faces between adjacent solid elements. Display the solid elements which are missing co-faces. Bonded contact elements. Imprints by selecting the edges that pass through a solid. Benefits Beginners who are unfamiliar with geometric modeling can proceed with a 3D modeling without failure. Several modeling steps such as division/translation/deletion had to be followed previously. But now the modeling process has been drastically simplified, which brings the reduced work time and the increased productivity. By applying contact elements, the adjacent elements of non-coincident nodes can behave as one body. This makes modeling convenient and analysis economic. (With the distance-based auto-searching method, the analysis results such as stress/displacement are continuous.)

Features
Can define/analyze more than 2 construction stage sets by introducing the concept of construction stage set. Rearranged the options according to the construction stage analysis types. Can generate construction stages based on the status shown/hidden on the work window.
Benefits
It is possible to define multiple construction stages in a single model file, which will make file management easy and make it unnecessary to redefine an identical construction stage, which will increase the productivity. It is possible to combine several analysis results in a single file, to compare and analyze them. Only the options that are relevant to the specific analysis type become available, which can avoid user disruption and analysis errors. There is no more need to define analysis data per stage one by one (using Drag & Drop, or Wizard). Even beginners can easily define construction stages.

Performance Enhancements
Features Shifting to 64bits mass storage PC operating system, which provides a multi-tasking environment, has accelerated rapidly. To keep pace with the rapid changes, a new framework that perfectly supports 64bits system has been developed. Offers a new graphics engine which is optimized even for large models. Benefits The restriction on output file size was removed and therefore, handling a large model is no longer a problem in practice. Due to less memory usage and improvement in selection/addition/deletion processing performance, even a 3D modeling can be processed swifly and easily.

Features Offers fast tetrahedron mesh and hybrid mesh. Utilizes multi-core processor during the auto-mesh generation. Benefits Hexahedral elements, which can produce good results, are generated even in a complex model. (Generates hexahedral elements outwards, tetrahedral elements inwards and pyramid elements as transition elements.) The more the solid blocks, the faster the mesh generation becomes.

Features
The solver has been replaced with 64bits based integrated solver for all analysis methods. GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) is supported. (Will be later evolved into the simultaneous use of CPU and GPU)
Benefits
A large model could be analyzed only on 32bits previously, depending on analysis methods. Now a large model can be analyzed with every analysis method. (Users no longer need to reduce the number of elements/construction stages due to memory problem.) 64bits system will reduce the analysis time by more than two folds. Shifting from CPU (Central Processing Unit) to GPU will improve the speed more than octuple. (There will be further improvement in performance.) With 64bits + GPU, the analysis speeds up between 5 ~ 16 times greater and the efficiency of case study and work will significantly be enhanced.

Analysis
Features Convergency of nonlinear analysis has been improved. Analysis functions have been expanded (End Release, Gauging Plate, High-order Beam, etc. have been added) Various coupled analysis alternatives are offered, not needing RFOC (Results From Other Case). Water level can be applied in 3D. Nonlinear time history analysis method has been added. (Soil creep behavior, large deformation consolidation, heat transfer analysis, etc. will be added) Benefits Highly reliable results can be obtained, compared to other products. As the coupled analysis is automatic, there is no need to set up analysis cases separately. Accurate results, not interpolated results are produced. The soil behavior can be estimated very accurately through a variety of analysis functions. Accurate effective stress results can be obtained from the actual water level.
Analysis Method
GTS 2014
- Addition of Drained/Undrained analysis options - Considers unsaturated soil property (for linear static / consolidation analysis) - Simulation of saturation line drop at early stage rainfall infiltration - Coupled seepage considering unsaturated soil property - Can consider the variation of water level by time steps - Addition of arc-length method, extension of material model library - Addition of nonlinear time history analysis method (In 2014, liquefaction material model will be incorporated) - Stability check for seismic zones (Enhanced) (Enhanced) (Enhanced) (Enhanced) (Added) (Added)

Analysis
For the existing seismic analysis of nuclear power plants, the frame-based detailed nonlinear dynamic analysis can be used. As the seismic design regulation for nuclear power plants has been stricter with global trends, full 3D modeling is recommended to evaluate the soil-structure interaction.
Coupled Analysis of Nonlinear Time History Analysis + Strength Reduction Method (SRM) Slope stability analysis can be performed for highly vulnerable zones during seismic analysis
Seismic performance can be assessed for the slope More competitive in the seismic safety assessment for the slope It is possible to evaluate avalanche prone areas
2014 Nonlinear Effective Stress Dynamic Analysis Liquefaction material model will be incorporated Detailed seismic performance evaluation will be possible for soft ground Expanding into the new field such as coastal structures/power plants
Due to the nature of power plants, power plants/coastal structures are located in coastal areas where it is easy to supply and demand raw materials. Liquefaction analysis will be possible for the coastal areas.
Miscellaneous
Features Smart report (report generation tool) saves the model information, graphs, analysis results, etc. as images which are compatible with Word document. Benefits Auto-generation of report does not need capturing images separately and saves work time. When the model information is changed, the report can be automatically updated with one click. This will eliminate repetitive work.
Features The warning/error messages that can occur during modeling/analysis have detailed explanations. Benefits As the user can check warning/error messages and correct the errors, he/she reduces mistakes and can proceed with the design and research work more efficiently.
Features The user can directly specify output items for each analysis. Benefits Can reduce the output file size not including unnecessary results and can gain a better understanding of the output items that are available for each analysis.
