Knowledge and Skills Knowledge

Teachers will know:
Explore and discover a variety of addition and subtraction strategies to introduce to students utilizing interactive tools. Explore and discover different ways to effectively incorporate interactive tools to focus student achievement and engagement in mathematic content areas such as perimeter, area, angles, congruence, fractions, and more. Explore and develop ways to help students gain a deeper understanding of place value while building their computation skills with multi-digit numbers through the usage of interactive tools.

Skills
Teachers will be able to:
Display 1 to 5 rows of beads, to beads per row utilizing Number Rack application. Hide beads with the resizable shade, which allows teachers or learners to model subtraction or difference problems using Number Rack application. Use the start over button to quickly reset all the beads and begin a new exploration in Number Rack application. Stretch bands around pegs to form line segments and polygons utilizing Geoboard application features. Fill individual shapes with a transparent color, or use the Fill All button to toggle all the bands between filled and unfilled by using the Geoboard tools. Represent larger numbers and multiplication and division concepts utilizing Number Pieces

application. Add and manipulate pieces (ones, tens, and hundreds) using the Number Pieces & Number Pieces Basic features. Use the expanding edge piece like a measuring tape to show the dimensions of arrays created with the pieces and rotate pieces 90 degrees utilizing Number Pieces & Number Pieces Basic for iPad. Use the drawing tools to label representations and exhibit understanding using the Number Pieces & Number Pieces Basic features.
