12/27/04 Invasions WiththemessinIraqgettingworseandworse,andnosolutionsinsight,noranyexitstrategy,what'snext?Jihadinspired MuslimsandarmsarepouringacrosstheopenborderswithSaudiArabia,Jordan,Syria,andIranWell,itworkedin Vietnam. TheIsraeliswarnedustocloseIraq'sbordersparticularlywithIranbutweignoredtheadvice. Oneofourmajorproblems,ofcourse,isthatwe'veturnedourinvasionsovertothemilitary.Theirbackgroundand trainingareinwarfare,notpeacekeepingorpolitics.ThesituationwasmadeevenworsewithIraqwhenSecretary RumsfeldtooktheinvasionplanningoutofthehandsofthemilitaryanddiditallhimselfwithBush'sblessing. Theresultwasashortwar,followedbyonebotchafteranother.InVietnamweinvaded,madeamess,andleft.Dittoin Haiti,andsoon. 12/20/04 CostCutting GeneralMotorsspent$4.5billiononsocalledhealthcareforits1.2millionemployeesandretireeslastyear.The companywouldhavebeenalotmoreprofitableifmuchofthatexpensehadbeeneliminatedandgonetothebottomline. Yes,Imtalkingpreventioninsteadofsocalledtreatment.Foraround$12milliontheycouldhaveprovidedtheirpeople withacopyofmySecretGuidetoHealth.Theimmediateimpactwouldhavebeen10%saving,as10%oftheirpeople quicklyadoptedamorehealthylifestyle.ThenextyearIwouldexpect20%moretobeinfluencedbythesuccessofthe first10%,savingthecompanyabout$450millionthefirstyearandaround$1.3billionthesecondyear. Changingthefareincompanycafeteriasandreplacingjunkfoodanddrinkmachinesinlunchroomswithbasketsoffruit andpurewater,thesicknesspreventionmessagewouldbeendorsedbymanagement.
