Remember, you have to wear your polo and khakis when volunteering if you dont have a work shirt, but the shirt is still optional. Make sure you get someone over 18 to come and drive for you. They need to list your name and NHS. No need to sign up, just sign in there! NHS is going to be in the Homecoming Parade. If youre interested in helping out/being in it, contact Alyssa. Sign up with Rebecca to volunteer. Were working on an opportunity at the retirement home. More details to come (contact Rebecca). The Fall Festival at St. Michaels is this weekend. Sign ups are in Mrs. Henrys Room (K204). Were collecting donations of 5 magazines or 2 books to send to Medical City for the patients to read. Mandatory Events: Ford Drive Fundraiser (Sat, 9/28) The Ford Drive Fundraiser is this Saturday, September 28. This is a mandatory fundraiser, so make sure you get someone over 18 to come and drive for you. They need to list your name and NHS. NHS Fall Induction Ceremony (Tues, 10/22) The Fall Induction is a mandatory event for all members (no point rewarded). Contact Mrs. Henry with any conflicts well in advance. Volunteer and Point Opportunities: Attendance Office (Weekly) We could use 2 volunteers in the attendance office from 77:25 every morning, weekly. Attend everyday for a week to earn a point. Contact Cecilia to sign up for a week. Powell Elementary Library (Tuesdays) Volunteer to help sort and shelve books at the Powell Elementary Library on Tuesdays from 3-4 pm. Sign up with Rebecca. Boys and Girls Club (Tuesdays and Thursdays) The Boys and Girls Club is open from 4-6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Its located at 1000 Enterprise Dr.Grand Prairie, TX, 75051. Be sure to sign in there. Grand Prairie Seminoles (Saturdays) - The Grand Prairie Seminoles are looking for volunteers to work the concession stand at home football games. Games at the Young Men's Leadership at Kennedy Middle School: 9/28, & 10/26. Games at Gopher-Warrior Bowl: 10/12. The games usually last from 10am to 8pm. Contact Chance to sign up for a two-hour time slot. St. Michaels Fall Festival (9/27-29) Sign ups to help run St. Michaels Fall Festival this weekend are in Mrs. Henrys room (K204). Contact Sarah for more information about the event. Rachels Challenge Rally (10/3) Sign ups for this event are done. If youve signed up, dont forget to attend at 6:30 on October 3. Also, youll need to find Mrs. Henry at the event so well know you were there! Homecoming Parade and Carnival (10/23) NHS is going to be in the Homecoming Parade. If youre interested in helping out/being in it, contact Alyssa. Medical City Magazine/Book Drive Were collecting donations of 5 magazines or 2 books to send to Medical City for the patients to read.
