The Arizona Game and Fish Departments Adobe Mountain Wildlife Center was founded in 1983. Although the Department manages the facility, most of the daily operations are carried out by a small group of dedicated volunteers. The primary objectives of the Wildlife Center are to: provide immediate care for sick, injured, confiscated and orphaned native wildlife; and provide wildlife education outreach programs throughout Arizona. Each year, the Wildlife Center receives up to 1,000 animals needing assistance! During our peak season (spring and summer) we can receive up to 30 animals a day. Most of these animals are provided with some level of care, rehabilitated if necessary, and released back to the wild. Animals that cannot be released due to permanent injuries or other reasons become animal ambassadors for education outreach programs or exhibits. Staff and volunteers from the Wildlife Center can interact with well over 100,000 individuals each year. Financial support for the Wildlife Center comes largely from Arizonas Heritage Fund a voter-passed initiative that uses lottery ticket sales to help support wildlife conservation and education. The Center receives additional support from public donations of money, time and supplies. If you, your group or classroom would like to help support the Wildlife Center with a non-cash donation, the following are items we most often need:

We can use elk, deer, game birds, javelina and rabbits. Please call the Wildlife Center at 623-582-9806 to arrange your donation. Monetary Donations We are also grateful for monetary donations of any size. Donations are deposited into the Departments Injured Wildlife Fund and used to support the care of the animals brought to the Wildlife Center.
