BUSINESS LABORATORY 1.1 BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION LABORATORY The Business Administration Laboratory has an area of 48 sq.

meters located at the first floor of the college building. It is equipped with Office and Business Equipment such as Computers, Cash register, and Electronic Adding Machine. Table to Calculator, Check Writer, Fax Machine, and Office Furniture and Fixtures. Various types/kinds of office and/or business forms are also displayed. The business laboratory facilities the first-hand, hands-on experience on the use of office/business forms and equipment. Thus, complementing the theory learned in the classroom with actual practice for an in-depth learning. 1.2 TYPING LABORATORY

The college typing laboratory has forty (40) units to help develop the skills of students in the manipulation of the typewriter.

SPEECH LABORATORY

The Speech Laboratory of each department is fully air-conditioned and has fifty student cubicles and one (1) teachers control panel. It is equipped with (2) deck cassette player, VCD player, video camera, and TV monitor. Each cubicle is also provided with textbook ready for students to use during speech communication drills. This provides the students the necessary training in strengthening their listening and speaking skills to make them become effective in oral communication. For the college, the laboratory is located at the ground floor of the college building. The high school is found at the third floor and the grade school is located at ground floor. 2 CALL CENTER LABORATORY

The CALL CENTER Laboratory is designed to cater the newly offered academic requirement of the institution which is a Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) The Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) laboratory has fifty (50) computer units all equipped with accessories like headphones and microphones. The said units were installed with the TELL ME MORE SOFTWARE Program. The Software contains Multi Media activities specially designed for the students. The activities were all based on academic research and aligned for ease of use. They were all centered on developing specific skills in learning a language: reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar and culture. There are about 2,000 hours of language learning content and 37 different types of engaging activities. It is equally effective for the beginning learners or advanced speakers. It promotes advancement at all stages of language learning for it is a pedagogically-sound language program.

SCIENCE LABORATORY The Science Laboratory constitutes one of the areas of student services, which enhances and develop skills of students. The College Science Laboratories composed of the Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Physics. The Biology laboratory is located at the ground floor and the Chemistry, Physics and Microbiology laboratories are located in the 3rd floor of the new Science and Library building. These laboratories are equipped with modern apparatus to enhance better learning through experimentation. The rooms are well ventilated and spacious that could accommodate fifty (50) students. Laboratory staff is provided headed by a knowledgeable Laboratory in-charge.

PRACTICAL ARTS LABORATORY SMC has a fully furnished bungalow and cooking laboratory. Sewing machines, cooking gadgets and utensils are provided. The practical arts laboratory helps the students to develop their skills in dressmaking, food preparation and housekeeping.

ENGINEERING LABORATORY The engineering laboratory is located adjacent to the science laboratories. All the apparatus are functional and met the minimum requirements set by the Technical Panel for Engineering and Maritime Education (TPEME) under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

NURSING SKILLS LABORATORY The nursing skills laboratory is a well-lighted and well-ventilated area. Its demonstration room and practice area for return demonstration have an area of at least 8m. X 14m. or 112 sq.m. The nursing skills laboratory simulates major areas in hospital setting and equipped with basic instruments, equipment and supplies, that aid in the development of the competencies in performing nursing procedures. Specifically, the nursing skills laboratory has the following components: a. An amphitheatre-type lecture room which can accommodate a maximum of 48-50 students at one time.

b. A demonstration room which adequately accommodates 8 beds allowing the same number of students to perform Return Demonstration at one given time. The demonstration room also contains lavatory and running water. c. A 1:2 bed to practicing students ratio or a practice area for return demonstration where there is one (1) bed to two (2) students at any given time; d. Two (2) doors which serves as an entrance and exit; e. A fire extinguisher placed outside the door with a record of refill and expiry date attached to the unit. The Nursing Skills Laboratory provides a supportive and caring environment for students to practice and demonstrate desired competencies.

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY

The Anatomy and Physiology laboratory is located on the second floor of the Nursing Building. This laboratory was developed to provide access to models and equipments used in the study of Anatomy and Physiology. The laboratory contains models for the study of the human body which include the Muscular System, Cardiovascular System, Skeletal System, Urinary System, Digestive System, and Respiratory System. The Laboratory is configured with tiled tables and stools for better study. It is well ventilated and spacious making it conducive for study. It also contains 2 sinks used during experimentation. The Anatomy and physiology laboratory is intended for SMC-T student use during laboratory period of Anatomy and Physiology. It will also help student augment their learning in Human Anatomy and physiology by providing a location for performance of experiments needed to complete the course. It is also intended for instructor use for in-lab presentations. 8 HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT LABORATORY (MARIAN MINI-HOTEL)

A separate Marian Mini-hotel houses all the amenities, facilities and equipment for Hospitality Management. It has 5 rooms (2 single, 2 twin, 1 executive) a bar (with all its amenities), a kitchen (with state-of-the-art stainless cooking utensils and equipment and materials are also available at the hotel. The Marian Mini-hotel provides the avenue for lecture, demonstration and return demonstration by the students to enhance the teaching-learning process. It enables the students theoretically and technically thus paying the way for their global competence in the world of hospitality business.
