Design Notes and Warning

a) Quantities of component sets reported do not include spares or any allow ance for variance in installation. Circuit design must be done independently by an engineer. The user of this program must then verify the number of circuits, thermostats, and component sets. In addition, Tyco Thermal Controls recommends that you order an additional 10% of each product selected for spares. b) Connection, termination kits, and controls are approved for use by the specified Approval Agency. The specified items must be used in order to comply w ith Agency as w ell as Tyco Thermal Controls w arranty requirements. For specific approval information, contact your Tyco Thermal Controls representative. c) All information, including illustrations, contained in the program or designs produced by it are believed to be reliable. Users, how ever, should independently evaluate the suitability of each design for their application. Tyco Thermal Controls makes no w arranties as to the accuracy or completeness of the information, and disclaims any liability regarding its use. Tyco Thermal Controls' only obligations are those in the Tyco Thermal Controls Standard Terms and Conditions of Sale for this product and other products, and in no case w ill Tyco Thermal Controls be liable for any incidental, indirect, or consequential damages arising from the sale, resale, use, or misuse of the product. Specifications are subject to change w ithout notice. Tyco Thermal Controls reserves the right to make changes--w ithout notification to Buyer--to processing or materials that do not affect compliance w ith any applicable specification. WARNING: a) There is a danger of fire from sustained electrical arcing if the heating cable is damaged or improperly installed. To comply w ith Tyco Thermal Controls requirements, certifications, and National Electrical Codes, and to protect against the risk of fire, each cable must have a grounded metal covering and ground-fault protection of equipment. Arcing may not be stopped by conventional circuit breakers. Refer to the most recent version of the U.S. National Electrical Code, Sections 427-22 and 427-23; the Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, Section 62; EN 50019; or other appropriate standard. In addition, all installation instructions must be follow ed carefully. b) Fire and Explosion Hazard. When used in hazardous locations (Class I, Zone 1/Zone 2/Division 2, Group A/B/C/D) there is a danger of fire or explosion if the heating cable system is not selected, installed, and maintained properly. This program w ill only select the proper heating cable and components if the input variables are correct. Be sure the data you input are correct, and that the heating cable is properly installed and maintained as described in the appropriate design guide, installation instructions, and maintenance manuals available from your representative or Tyco Thermal Controls. Follow all applicable codes and standards, including IEEE 515, CAN/CSA- E60079 Series, or EN60079-14. Contact Tyco Thermal Controls if you have any questions or concerns before installing the cable.
