2013 National Scouting Month Annually, we celebrate scouting every month of October, the month the boy scouts

of the Philippines was established in the year 1936 by virtue of the Philippine Commonwealth Act III. In Baguio City, The Boy Scouts of the Philippines in cooperation with the city government and the Department of Education celebrated the Scouting Month with an opening program at the Baguio Convention Center last October 1, 2013.PMA Superintendent Edgar L. Abogado was the guest speakers and gave an inspiring speech to all the scouts about the Scout Law. GSP president Ms. Prescila Gumnad and BSP Chairman former City Mayor Reynaldo Bautista Jr. reiterated within their speeches about the responsibilities and roles of the scouts in their communities. The Grand Parade followed after the opening program which highlighted the significant celebration for the day. Participated for the city officials, BSP-GSP Board Members, Institutional heads, SOFAD and Scouts of all ranks from the different participating schools of Baguio like Don Bosco Elementary and High School Departments. The parade started at the convention center towards Session Road, Harrison Road, and winded up at the back of Melvin Jones Grandstand. Education for Life is the theme of this significant celebration.
