When Corey Feldman dropped by The View on Tuesday to promote Coreyography: A Memoir, he couldn't have been expecting what was in store for him. After host Jenny McCarthy questioned his familial abuse allegations, the former child star explained, 'I don't want to turn this into a mother-bashing session... she tried the best she could.' Host Sherri Shepherd was next, telling The Lost Boys star that he was wrong to accept some responsibility for being molested by a man at age 13 because as she put it, 'You were a child.' Finally Barbara Walters stepped in, accusing the rehabbed star of trashing an 'entire industry' after he said that Hollywood is full of 'predators.' Scroll down for video

Tense talks: Corey Feldman was asked some tough questions by the hosts of The View on Tuesday

He stood his ground: The Stand By Me actor insisted he was not trying to 'smear' his late friend Corey Haim

Corey Feldman 'molested by Hollywood power players'

She doesn't agree: Host Sherri Shepherd (with guest host Nick Offerman) told Corey he shouldn't take any responsibility for what happened to him at age 13

The surprises didn't end there. Corey, 42, also said, 'The people who did this to me and Corey [Haim] are still in this business.... and they want me dead.' He also stated that these predators are 'very powerful in the media and in the studio system.' When talking about being a child actor in Hollywood, he warned, 'It's a many feathered bird. Be careful what you wish for.' He also said parents of young actors shouldn't be 'irresponsible' and said the kids 'don't need to be big stars, they don't need to be on a pedestal.'

Looking for answers: Jenny McCarthy (left, on Thursday) and Barbara Walters (right, in April) wanted to know more about Corey's past

It's all in the book: Coreyography: A Memoir is available through Amazon

The Stand By Me star - who has been sober for 20 years - was visibly upset as he defended himself. But he looked the most distraught when discussing his old friend Haim. 'OK, this is really the toughest question. I want to set the record straight,' when asked if he accused Haim of making advances toward him. 'A lot of people have said I want to capitalize on him,' he said, then stated he didn't want 'to smear his name.' 'I'm telling this story because Corey was a victim,' he explained of his Lost Boys co-star. 'He wasn't gay, he was very confused because he was a victim.' He defends his friend, who died in 2010 at age 38 of pneumonia, saying before he passed the star was taking care of his mother and was 'really talented,' but was 'kicked to the curb.' He also commented on how Haim wasn't mentioned at the Academy Awards because Hollywood wanted him 'erased from history.' The actor insisted he doesn't want people to feel sorry for him. 'It's not to be a victim, and it's not to be heartbreaking, it's to be victorious,' he insisted. Sherri, who sat between Corey and guest host Nick Offerman, made sure to squeeze in a mention of Michael Jackson. After the host pointed out he wrote that the King Of Pop was the one man who did not take advantage of him, Corey agreed, saying, 'Of all people.'

They supported each other: The two Coreys - Feldman and Haim - pictured in 2007, were co-stars of 1987's The Lost Boys

It was weird not seeing him go on to bigger things as loads of films he was in were hits when i was growing up so he was obviously somebody of clear ability getting stifled by unseen forces, totally respect this guy who fired his catapult at gremlins, give Corey back his position and make him the next Jack Nicholson. 2 109 Click to rate

HopeDiamond, DC, United States, 3 days ago Barbara Walters shame on you!!! You old fart! Let me take that broom away from you before you sweep more under the rug. I completely believe Corey because I know personally how those things happen in the real world. If a piece of trash in rural USA can get away with molesting many, many girls over decades, admit it to police and STILL be free as a bird, then I can only imagine the cover ups that go on in the land of the rich and famous! I only hope that Corey exposes the entire situation. Maybe there should be a special prosecutor since his claims were earlier ignored! There are ways you can ruin people dear Corey without them ever knowing it was you. I hope you find the ways! 0 222 Click to rate hairybackedbertha, cornwall, United Kingdom, 3 days ago I do believe him but he has a responsibility to report these men to the authorities and prosecute rather than writing books and going on tv shows saying they want him dead. He has the power to protect other children from being molested by these scum bags. Give there names to the police and bring them to justice.
