A L TEX TYPESETTING WORKSHOP 2 EVALUATION REPORT

A Part two of the L TEX Typesetting Workshop took place on April 5, 2012. It covered more advanced topics than the previous workshop. Per students A suggestions, we provided multiple L TEX les with sample code and examples, including the presentation. The workshop was broken into two parts, a presentation portion and an interactive portion where students coded on their computers with the speaker. The speaker covered many of the requested topics, including BibTeX, Beamer, and formatting/placement of gures, subgures, equations, and arrays. Also, as requested, the speaker gave a brief introduction to the University of Floridas Ph.D. dissertation template. A A total of 63 people attended the second L TEX Typesetting Workshop, most of which were graduate students. There were 52 complete evaluations. The following table summarizes the college and the department of the attendees.

There were far fewer comments on how this workshop could be improved. Although the length of the second workshop was increased, students still wanted a longer workshop in order to be presented more information. In particular, they wanted more detail on advanced topics and a longer interactive portion with more question and answer time. Also, a few students thought the workshop was very centered around mathematics and would like to see even more information on syntax, creating journal articles and A formatting papers. Overall the second L TEX workshop had very positive feedback.
