Summary
It could be argued that this St. Louis team was the best one the Cardinals have had in a decade. They came into the season with a vaunted offense and young, talented pitchers. They had some trouble with the Pirates in the NLDS, but ended up prevail 3-2 in the series. The Dodgers seemed the team to beat in the NL, but proved to be a team just in the way of the Cardinals and another World Series. However the Red Sox proved to be too much to handle as the Cardinals were dispatched in 6 games.

Transactions
- Traded Marc Rzepczynski to the Cleveland Indians. Received Juan Herrera (minors). - Traded a player to be named later to the Milwaukee Brewers. Received John Axford. The St. Louis
Cardinals sent Michael Blazek (September 1, 2013) to the Milwaukee Brewers to complete the trade.

Three Up/Three Down

+ Havent missed a beat since Albert Pujols left + Best young pitching in the game + Oscar Taveras, the #2 overall prospect

- Shortstop position is a glaring weakness - Had 10 different pitchers start - Will they stay healthy for asecond straight year?
