Summary of Qualifications
I have over twenty years experience in education, the past fifteen years working in the independent school system. I have a diversified experience including: major gift fundraising, admission recruitment, teaching, coaching and public speaking. My experience as an educator at Upper Canada College has provided me with a strong foundation and understanding of core of what an independent school provides: a student experience that is challenging, inspiring and spurs them to pursue life with diligence, integrity and compassion. I have an integral knowledge of the independent school setting, including: Advancement, Admission, Communications, Academics, Boarding, Athletics, and the Arts.

Advancement Department (2007-present)

As a Senior Development Officer I have cultivated strong relationships with parents and alumni that I have leveraged to generate gifts in excess of $13 million. I have extensive experience writing gift proposals and have personally asked for 7 and 8 figure leadership gifts. I have worked with the Association team at UCC including extensive experience with: branch receptions, alumni events, newsletter communications and working with alumni and student committees. As a member of the Association team I created and supervised the Blues Booster Club (BBC) and the Arts Booster Club (ABC) whose purpose is to increase engagement of parents, students and Old Boys in the life of the College. This required direct collaboration with the Communications department and the Athletic and Arts departments.

Admission Department (2006-Present)

As a recruitment officer, I have travelled locally, nationally and internationally seeking candidates for both boarding and day admission. I have successfully developed strong relationships with prospective families and students to successfully recruit many full fee paying boarders. I have built a network of alumni, educators, coaches, community leaders and parents to provide leads necessary to feed the Admission funnel. I have extensive experience with interviewing students, leading family tours and working open houses all in support of admitting outstanding candidates.

I have taught mathematics, physical education and computer science in a co-ed, single sex girls and single sex boys schools.

During the last decade, I have taught IB courses in mathematics and have an outstanding track record in preparing students to write the IB examinations.

Boarding (2000-2006)

A member of the Boarding Advising team, I developed a complete understanding of the boarding programme. While living on Campus, I was responsible for the well being of my boarding Advising group. This included academic, extra-curricular and social advising and communicating directly with the Boarding parents.

Advising (2006-2011)

As a Senior Day House Advisor, I worked directly with a team of 7 teacher/advisors to fulfill the pastoral care role delivered in the house system. I collaboration with parents, teachers and students I was responsible for the supporting academic, extra curricular and social life of the eight students in my house.

Coaching (1990-present)

I have extensive experience coaching Football, Rugby and Basketball including Head Varsity Football and Rugby Coach for over a decade. My teams have achieved great success, on the strength of a strong vision, leadership, motivation and skill instruction. My teams have won in excess of 10 CISAA championships including an OFSAA gold and three silver medals.
