From January 2014, AES will be donating 1% of every online payment of 20 or more towards cancer treatment facilities for children in St. Johns Ward in Our Ladys Childrens Hospital, Crumlin. In Ireland there are on average 160 children diagnosed yearly with cancer Leukaemia being the most common childhood cancer followed by brain tumours. During 2013 the upgrading of St. Johns was commenced, which involved redesigning the unit to facilitate 19 single rooms ensuite. Historically, donations have played a major role in the development of projects like this and to date continues to do so. This is a wonderful opportunity to give-back and will ultimately help the hospital to care for children and their families aected by cancer.
