"Second Time Around"

Kent State University Independent Films members hope to launch Kent State's first scripted web series this spring. The series, which was entirely produced and created by students, is the brainchild of Caleb Ference, the organization's vice president. His series, "Second Time Around" is about a graduate student who unintentionally makes a wish and wakes up six years in the past. He must relive college starting in his freshman year and decide if he will redo the choices he made to change the future.

Gain Experience:
At the beginning of each semester, KSU Independent Films asks interested members to break up into teams to create a short project to work on throughout the semester. The project has a similar feeling to 48-hour film festivals because groups are given certain stipulations when creating their projects. The time is limited to 4 to 6 minutes; participants are given a certain prop that must be used, as well as a specific line of dialogue. Projects like this offer students a way to connect with others and gain hands-on experience.
