an IUK alumna; Dianne Roden, IUK professor of finance; and Harris. After the ceremony, more than 60 regional and campus displays will be available for attendees to view, featuring the successes of business, industry, and higher education in north central Indiana. These will be located in Alumni Hall, the Kelley Student Center Room 130 and the IUK Library. "I am humbled and delighted at the response to this celebration," Harris said. "My installation is an opportunity to applaud the efforts of this region, and is a stepping stone to future collaborations to ensure economic success for the communities served by IU Kokomo." Since Harris' arrival on July 1, he has spent many hours touring and meeting with community leaders to listen and learn about the educational needs of the region. "We have

moved on all fronts," he said. His focus is on three themes: academic excellence and student success, regional transformation, and building relationships and friendships throughout the region and beyond. In addition, as Harris moves the campus forward, emphasis will continue to be placed on student retention and graduation rates. "IU Kokomo is a leader in providing direction and support for the economic well-being of north central Indiana," Harris said. "I appreciate President McRobbie's faith in me to lead the campus in this very important role." One of many of Harris' goals is to increase educational opportunities that are relevant to the needs of the region. This includes more online course offerings, new programs, and collaborating with businesses, government, and non-profit organizations.
