HYBRID AVIATION

Hybrid Aviation is a flight cell of Hybrid Technics (Pvt.) Ltd. based in Lahore, Pakistan. It has been carrying out air charter and aerial work operations within Pakistan since 1998. The company operates Hybrid Aviation Flying School which imparts flying training to all aspiring and eligible pilots. The company provides state-of-the-art flying training facilities where student pilots have the opportunity of acquiring theoretical knowledge along with practical flying training. Pilots use modern training aids, gadgets, models, actual aircraft parts and instruments in order to gain clear and indepth knowledge of the systems, structures, working principles, operations and handling of the aircraft as a whole. The aim is to produce private and commercial pilots who are thoroughly conversant with their flying equipment and also have the baseline knowledge, open-minded attitude and aptitude to rapidly adapt to changes occurring in the 21st Century aviation environment. This enables pilots to develop professional approach towards aviation regardless of whether they want to adopt it as a profession or to fly for fun or business use. FACILITIES
Hybrid Aviation Flying School provides a conducive and peaceful environment for all pilots so that they can concentrate only on their training. The building currently houses a lecture hall, PC based training room, instructor offices, engineering workshop, lockers, private hanger, student lounge and a private car park. Ideal Location
Hybrid Aviation Flying School is situated at Walton Airport, in the heart of Lahore. It is easily accessible from within Lahore city or from outside via Ferozpur Road. Students are surrounded by a peaceful and safe atmosphere with Lahore Flying Club on one side.

Hostel Facility
A newly constructed hostel facility is available for boys. It provides an affordable accommodation to student pilots during their course of training.

Lecture Hall
Classes in the lecture hall are carried out under modern facilities such as projector or from online lectures of AOPA. The hall is available for briefings, flight planning, examinations or even private study.

PC Based Aviation Training Device


The PC Based Aviation Training Device (PCATD) provides a great introduction for student pilots to aviation norms, flying controls, radio commands and basic techniques.

Independent Weather System


Hybrid's independent GPS activated weather system provides real-time updated weather reports for home and away airfields. The system is available to all pilots to take advantage of.

Pilot Resources
Hybrid provides its students with access to numerous pilot resources such as comprehensive books, charts, training manuals, navigation equipment, etc.

Lockers
Lockers are available to all pilots to keep their personal belongings safe before they start their flight.

Student Lounge
The student lounge allows students to freely interact with each other during their leisure time. Students can read aviation related books, magazines and watch DVDs of PPL, CPL and IR.

Computer Access
Computer with broadband internet connection is available to keep abreast of current weather or aviation resources.

Social Events
Throughout the year social events are organized, from lunches to special flying occasions. Students are regularly updated about forthcoming events.

PRE-REQUISITES FOR ADMISSION


A person aspiring to receive flight training at Hybrid Aviation Flying School shall have to fulfill following requirements for admission as Student Pilot: For PPL: For CPL: Minimum Age: 17 years 1. ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The candidate who fulfills the pre-requisites for admission will follow the procedure given below for admission in Hybrid Aviation Flying School. Once the candidate gets the Medical Fitness Certificate from CAMB, he/she will have to appear in a written examination for admission. This examination will be comprised of two parts: English General Science and Mathematics On clearing the examination, the candidate will fill-in the admission forms and will fly an evaluation flight with the CFI or a Senior Instructor designated by the CFI. The evaluating instructor will submit a written report in the Student Pilot Folder mentioning whether or not the candidate has enough aptitude to continue further training. After his approval, the student pilot will be issued a Student Pilot License (SPL). The candidate declared fit for further training by evaluating instructor will then undergo ground and flying training sessions as scheduled. It will be mandatory for the candidate to acquire basic knowledge on ground about aircrafts, aircraft systems, instruments, flight and engine controls, limitations, normal and emergency procedures, as well as local and standard operating procedures prior to the commencement of flying training.

COURSES OFFERED
In order to meet the demand of various customers, Hybrid Aviation Flying School offers the following courses to Student Pilots:

Private Pilot Course


The Private Pilot Course shall lead the Student Pilots from training to the issue of Private Pilot License (PPL). General Requirements:

Valid Pakistani Student Pilot License (SPL) FRTOL endorsed on the SPL Minimum 17 Years of Age Valid Medical Certificate (At least Class 2) by CAMB

Aeronautical Knowledge: The Student Pilots, while undergoing the training for the issue of PPL, shall also undergo ground training in the following subjects: Air Law Aircraft General Knowledge (AGK) Flight Performance & Planning Meteorology Navigation Operational Procedures (AIP, NOTAMS, Aeronautical Codes and Abbreviations) Principles of Flight

Human Performance and Limitations Radiotelephony

Aeronautical Experience:

Integrated Course: Flight training course of PPL shall comprise of 40 hours. Duration of the course is 8 months, starting from the issue of SPL. Modular Course: Flight training of PPL shall comprise of 50 hours. There is no time limit for this course; however the student pilot must have flown 10 hours in the 3 months preceding the issue of PPL.

Business Pilot Course


The Business Pilot Course is exclusively designed by Hybrid Aviation Flying School to cater for the special category of people belonging to various professions who intend to learn flying and subsequently want to fly to various locations for the purpose of their business. The Business Pilot Course constitutes of acquiring PPL and endorsements of Instrument Rating, Passenger Rating and Night Rating on the PPL. General Requirements for Business Pilot Course: The person who intends to take the Business Pilot Course must possess valid Pakistani SPL or PPL and valid Class 2 Medical Certificate by CAMB. Aeronautical Knowledge: As the Business Pilot Course involves the endorsement of Instrument and Passenger Ratings on the PPL, the course will include ground instructions covering the syllabus for IR which includes the following:

Air Law relevant to the flight under IFR Radio Aids: principles of operation, serviceability, limitations, errors, uses and procedures related to a particular aid including procedures in case of malfunctions

Aircraft Instruments: principles of operation, serviceability, limitations, errors, uses and procedures in case of malfunctions IFR Flight Preparation and Planning Human Performance and Limitations relevant to Instrument Flights Practical Navigation using Radio Navigation Aids Radiotelephony procedures related to IFR Flights

Aeronautical Experience: The Student Pilot undergoing the Business Pilot Course will complete the requirements laid down for the issue of Instrument Rating (Airplane) on Single Engine Aircraft. The issue of Instrument Rating requires at least 50 hours PIC Cross Country Time, out of which only 5 hours are completed during the course of PPL. He/She will also go for the Conversion Training and Endorsement of Cessna172 aircraft as well as Flight Check for Passenger Rating after he/she completes the requirement for the same. The approximate minimum total number of hours for the completion of Business Pilot Course are mentioned in the table below: Flying Time for issue of PPL Integrated Course 40:00 hours Modular Course 50:00 hours Flight Check for issue of PPL Additional Cross Country Required to complete the requirements for the issue of IR (PIC) 01:00 hour 30:00 hours

Commercial Pilot Course


The Commercial Pilot Course shall lead the Student Pilot from PPL to the attainment of Commercial Pilot License (CPL). General Requirements:

Educational Qualification of at least Higher Secondary School Certificate or Equivalent Valid Pakistani SPL with FRTOL or Valid Pakistani PPL Minimum 18 years of age Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate by CAMB

Aeronautical Knowledge: The Student Pilots, while undergoing the training for the issue of CPL, shall also undergo ground training in the following subjects:

Operational Procedures (AIP, NOTAMS, Aeronautical Codes and Abbreviations, Precautionary and Emergency Procedures, Carriage of Freight, Hazards associated with Dangerous Goods) Principles of Flight Human Performance and Limitations Radiotelephony

Aeronautical Experience (CPL Integrated Course): The Integrated Flying Training Course for the issue of CPL shall comprise of at least 150 hours Total Flying Experience (110 hours after PPL). These 150 hours must be completed within 18 months from the date of issue of SPL. Aeronautical Experience (CPL Modular Course): The Modular Flying Training Course for the issue of CPL is designed for Student Pilots who cannot complete the CPL training within 18 months from the date of commencement of the training, or within 10 months of commencement of CPL training. This course shall comprise of at least 200 hours (150 hours after the issue of PPL). There is no time limit on the completion of these 200 hours. However, the Student Pilot is required to have flown at least 25 hours in six months preceding the issue of CPL.

Instrument Rating Course


A pilot is incomplete without Instrument Rating (IR) endorsed on his/her Pilot License. The Instrument Training enables a pilot to fly in conditions where outside visual references are not available. Thus, even when the visibility is bad in winters or when one enters clouds inadvertently, the pilot is still able to execute a safe flight if he/she is thoroughly trained to fly with reference to the aircraft instruments. Instrument Training Course at Hybrid Aviation Flying School is offered to all the Student Pilots who want to undergo this training after attaining their PPL or CPL.

General Requirements:

A valid Pakistani PPL or higher license A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate by CAMB. However, the holders of PPL with Class 2 Medical Assessment shall have their hearing acuity established on the basis of compliance with the hearing requirements for the issue of Class 1 Medical Assessment.

Aeronautical Knowledge:

Aeronautical Experience: The Student Pilots undergoing training for the IR shall have to complete their Instrument Flying Training requirements (both ground and flying training) within six months. The requirement is to fly 40 hours of Instrument Flying.
