TECHNICAL REPORT 40% This assignment is divided into TWO (2) parts: Oral & Written (1) DESCRIPTION OF THE ORAL ASSIGNMENT (10%) The class will be divided into SIX (6) small groups. Each group will choose/be given a topic related to the sections of a technical report (refer to 2.3) and present it in class at the specified time given. The duration of the presentation will be for 30 min to 1 hour. You are required: 1.1 to consult your lecturer on the content of your presentation before you present 1.2 to submit a handout of your PowerPoint presentation & other materials used to your lecturer (2) DESCRIPTION OF THE WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT (30%) This is an INDIVIDUAL or PAIRWORK assignment. For this assignment, you are required to submit a TECHNICAL REPORT. The format and language convention of the technical report must be based on the format and language convention discussed in class. Below are the details of the project: 2.1 The information in this Technical Report is to be obtained through research on reading materials or your technical notes. 2.2 You could base your research on the lab report that you have done or your FYP. 2.3 All the sections of a technical report must be present in your assignment: Title page Abstract Table of contents List of Tables List of Figures List of Equations List of Symbols/Abbreviations/Terminology Introduction Literature Review Methodology (design/participants/equipment/materials/machines/techniques/data collection) Results & Discussion Conclusions References Appendices (if any)

1.2 Include a reference page at the end of the report to acknowledge the sources of your information (this is to acknowledge the sources in the Introduction, Literature Review and Results & Discussion sections). You must include at least three (3) reliable and credible references. 2.4 Include page numbers (Roman numerals for preliminary pages; Arabic numerals for text pages). 2.5 The report should be typed in New Times Roman, Font 12, 1.5 spacing, and justified alignment. 2.6 Get the approval of your lecturer on the title you have chosen for your Technical Report. Nobody is allowed to write a report on the same title. 2.7 IF YOU ARE FOUND OUT TO COPY OR PLAGIARIZE YOUR FRIENDS WORK, OR FROM OTHER SOURCES (without citations & referencing), YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY GIVEN A ZERO (0).

(3) EVALUATION The assessment for the Oral Assignment will be as follows: NO 1 SECTION OF TECHNICAL REPORT Content Cover the main essence of the specific section of a technical report. Language Cover the correct language used in the section. Examples Provide adequate examples of the specific section of a technical report. MARKS 10
