US History is a required one-year course in which students will survey United States history from the end of Reconstruction through resent time. !he course will concentrate on ma"or historical themes and develo ments. !he main goal is to gain a broad understanding of later U.S. history and understand how it has influenced the world we live in today. !he ; ring binder should be divided by unit of study% and any handouts you receive in class should be entered in to the binder in the order received. CLASS EXPECTATIONS:
&n order to have a successful learning environment% there are certain olicies and rocedures we must all follow. .. Students must be re ared and on time. !his means being in your assigned seats when the bell rings% with all the materials listed above. 5. Show res ect. Students should treat eers and teachers with the res ect and courtesy that you would e@ ect in return. Res ect students6 right to learn% and the teacher6s right to teach. ;. Students are e@ ected to artici ate actively in all class activities. <?ou lose e@tra credit oints when you don6tF for e@am le# slee ing during a video% refusal to do an in class assignment% etcF> 3. Students must ta7e care of all ersonal needs before or after class. ?ou will only receive three asses er trimester which may only be used in an emergency. !hose who do not use their asses will receive e@tra credit at the end of the trimester. 4. GRA ING POLICIES: Assignments graded in class can not be turned in late% as the answers have already been given. Assignments missed due to une@cused absences will receive a :ero.
