Welcome to the New Inside Out Pre-intermediate Test CD. The tests on this CD have all been written to reflect the content of the units in the New Inside Out Pre-intermediate Students Book. Twelve Unit tests These tests are designed to be used at the end of each unit of the Students Book. The e ercise t!"es in the tests should be familiar to students as the! are similar to those used in the Students Book and Workbook. #ach test is divided into Part $ and Part B. Part $ tests the %rammar& 'ocabular! and (seful "hrases sections "resented in the Students Book unit. Part B includes the )istening& Pronunciation and *eading sections "resented in the Students Book unit. #ach test has a final score of +, marks -.+ marks for Part $ and /+ marks for Part B0. Four Review tests There is a *eview test for ever! three units of the Students Book. The *eview tests are divided into Part $ and Part B and follow the same format as the unit tests. #ach *eview test has a final score of +, marks -.+ marks for Part $ and /+ marks for Part B0. Recordings The recordings for the listening tests are also included on this CD. There is one "ronunciation and one listening audio "er unit& including each *eview unit& and the tracks are numbered from / to .1. Customising the tests $ll the tests on this CD are full! customisable. This means that an! e ercises can be deleted or changed to suit the needs of the individual class. $lternativel!& the tests can be broken down into smaller chunks if time is a factor. There is enough s"ace in all the tests for students to write their answers on the "age. 2owever& students could also be emailed the tests and com"lete them using a com"uter. Com"leted tests could be then either "rinted out and marked or emailed back for marking onscreen. The tests are eas! to use. 3"en the Tests folder on the CD. #ach test is in its own file so sim"l! choose the test !ou want to use and double click to o"en it. The test will o"en and can then be "rinted or emailed as re4uired. To save an edited version of a test& use the Save as o"tion and rename the document so that the original remains unchanged. Save !our new document to !our hard drive. #ach test has an answer ke! and an audio scri"t to accom"an! it. 3"en the relevant folder& double click the relevant file to o"en it and "rint out as re4uired. To listen to the recordings for the listening e ercises !ou can "la! the tracks on a CD "la!er or on a com"uter.
