SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS Thank you to the parents who expressed interest in our recent School Council elections. We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful parental support in so many areas at Tootgarook Primary School! I am delighted to announce that all vacancies were filled through this election process and the new School Council for 2014 is now in place. Please remember that these members are also your voice on council, so please feel free to have input into the policy direction of the school through these councillors. Our 2014 members are: Parent Reps: Simone Royle, Adele Read, Melissa Connelly, Paula Davies, Gary Barrett (new member) Warren Peterson (new member) Staff Reps: Alicia Perkins (new member), Mandy Bos, Paul King and Wayne Whitworth. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing members Lynne Baird, Amanda Reeve and Deanne Reeve for their contribution to Council and wish them all the best for the future.

March 19th is National Ride2School Day


Wednesday 19 March 2014 marks the eighth National Ride2School Day, where over 250,000 Australian students, will ride, walk, scoot or skate to school, many for the first time. National Ride2School Day is about celebrating active travel within the school day and encouraging those who haven't started to give it a go

Free Dress Day - an Easter item for the Easter Baskets is required. Easter Raffle tickets @ 50cents each will be sent home next week. please return by Thursday 3rd April the raffle will be drawn on Friday 4th April.

Prep B Mrs Bos Riley OBrien congratulations on a great start to school. Riley is interested in all school activities and participates enthusiastically. Prep P Mrs Prossor Noah Gorely for the care he is beginning to take with his colouring and cutting activities. 1H Mrs Hughes Shelby McCormick for her increased enthusiasm and work ethic. She is consistently demonstrating the RICH School Values and becoming a more independent worker. 1P Miss Perkins - Max Gorton - For always having a smile on his face and a great attitude toward his learning. Max always does his best with his classroom work. 2B Mrs Baird Imogen Wiggett for eagerly answering questions in her numeracy group. Keep up the good work Imogen. 2J - Mrs Johnstone Tyson Closter for his great interest in learning and sharing and for displaying RICH values. 3/4T Miss Withers Logan Coleman for her excellent effort she has put into her Australian Map for Integrated Studies. Logan has worked extra hard to complete the work to a high standard and add extra information. Keep up the great work. 3/W Ms Walton Austin Beagley for his fantastic work when writing descriptive sentences. He always applies himself to any task given. 4/5S Miss Staley - Renee Robinson - Congratulations on an incredible Integrated Studies assignment. You always take pride in your work and pay close attention in all school activities. You are a cooperative and helpful member of 4/5S and a great role model! 5Q Miss Quintin - Max Royle- Your role play in front of our English class was fantastic! You bought the Puffer Fish in the play alive and kept us entertained the entire time- Well Done Max Royle. 6B Mrs Bruin Kane Rigg for your outstanding effort to improve in all areas. It is great to see you get involved in all aspects of your schooling. Keep up the great work! Art / Craft (Mrs Kingsbury) Emma Campbell + Tom Connelly for helping clean up after our Art lesson without being asked thankyou!! Music (Mrs Young) Jacob Kelly + Harrison Read you have practised Advance Australia Fair and have managed to master it in a short time to become part of the band. Well done. I am pleased to have you in band. PE Sport Award -

Do you have a child at school who is Catholic and in Grade Three or Four? They are eligible to receive the Sacraments of either Reconciliation or Communion for the first time. Enrolments are being taken now at St Marys Star of the Sea or St Josephs School for preparation classes starting in Term 2.
