Susan G. Komen 3-Day

One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It seems that a month doesnt go by that we hear the news that yet another person we know has been diagnosed with breast cancer. You want to reach out and do something. But what? This August, Cheryl Murphy, a part of our IY family, will be walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day to help end breast cancer forever. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk taking place in Detroit on August 15 August 17. Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised will help support Komens Research and Training Grant Program and large public outreach programs for women and men facing breast cancer. The remaining 25 percent helps fund local community and Affiliate support and outreach programs. I am walking the Susan G. Komen 3-Day to support those who are currently fighting breast cancer, to honor those who have lost the battle, and to celebrate life with those who have survived. If someone in your life has been affected by breast cancer, it would be an honor for me to carry them with me on my journey. ~ Cheryl Murphy
