Gaudin-Schumanns Plot
Answer: From the plot above at graphic (Gaudin-Schumann), it's obtained the estimation
of fraction mass value wich retained on 200 microns and 34 microns
a. On 200 microns :
y = 0.047x + 51.66
From the equation above, x=200, we can obtain the plot of %cum. Passing (y).
y = 0.047 (200) + 51.66
Y = 61.06%
Meanwhile, % cum.retained is 100% - %cum. Passing, so 100-61.06% = 38.94%
So, on aperture 200 microns, %mass retained already reach the cumulative 38.94%
b. On 34 microns :
y = 0.047x + 51.66
We substitute x to 34 microns, so Its obtained %cum.passing (y).
y = 0.047 (34) + 51.66
y = 53.258
Meanwhile %cum. Retained = (100-53.258)% = 46.742%
So, %mass retained on 34 microns is cumulative 46.742%

Aperture Size (microns)

Question: Feed which reduced (passing) on aperture size of 1000 microns.

Answer: Using curve plot, and substituting x with 1000 microns, so the equation is
y = 0.047x + 49.20 , then the value of % cum. Passing.
y = 0.047(1000) + 49.20
y = 47 + 49.20
y = 96.2%
So, the reduction velocity on 1000 microns already reach the cumulative on 96.2%.
(approaching to the Gaudin-Schuhmanns plot).
