Tin Whistle Font (Als Whistle Font)

When our children started learning tin whistle at The Gordon Gaitherin, http://www.gaitherin.org/, they would come home with tunes that were hand written in whistle tablature. Whistle tablature is a graphical way of showing tin whistle fingering and is a great way for beginners to play a recognizable tune on a whistle when they have little no experience reading sheet music. After this we bought a number of beginners music boo s for the tin whistle that included versions of traditional music transposed to or describing whistle tablature. !.g. "#nstant $in Whistle and "$he %lar e $in Whistle. &ater when our children wanted other tunes to play and before they had learned to read music, we used whistle tablature to write out some fiddle tunes that are suitable for tin whistle. 'ur elder daughters experience of learning the whistle was enhanced when she bought Alba % and ( whistles after meeting )tacey '*orman of Alba Whistles at a local craft fair.
