A Walk in the Woodland

If you are a fan of a woodland walk, then give the walk at Trelissick Gardens a try. The circular route will take you over fields, besides creeks, a roman fort and delightful countryside. The walk is approximately 4 miles (6.4km) and you should allow 1.5 2 hours to complete.
Trelissick Gardens can be found at Feock, near to Truro, and is a National Trust property, The Trust were donated the House and grounds by the Copeland family in 1955. The walk starts at the main car park and then over a cattle grid into parkland with a wonderful view of the sea ahead of you. Walking down over the hill towards the beach, the view out over the Carrick Roads is truly beautiful, and looks striking in all weathers.
On the opposite bank can be seen Turnaware Point which played its part during WW2 as one of the embarkation points for the D-Day landings. The footpath here is easy to walk, being fairly flat and wide, and takes you through the South Wood which boasts a wide variety of trees including yew, oak, hazel, ash and beech. Continue along the path you will eventually be able to look down over the right hand bank and see the King Harry Ferry. There has been a ferry of some description here for centuries, but since 1888 The King Harry Ferry Steam Ferry has been operating at this point in the river. Continue on until you reach the road that slices though the South and North Woods. Cross the road and climb some steps and follow the steep sided path along the banks of Lamouth Creek. Half a mile or so, you will come to a fork in the path, if you take the right hand fork over a small wooden bridge you will take a detour to Roundwood Quay. This is well worth a visit. This old quay was used in the 18 Century to transport copper and tin ore from Chacewater by ship. This part of the river is very deep, the river bed being cut out by ice melt water before sea levels rose. Behind the quay is an Iron Age Roundwood settlement. Time to turn back and retrace your steps to the fork in the path. This time turn right at the fork and climb the zig zag path that leads you back to the main road. After crossing the road and going through the gate by the Old Lodge, head left and follow the path back to the car park. More information

When you get to the small shingle beach, take a minute or two to take in the vista. If you turn to look the way you came, you will have a fantastic view of the magnificent neoclassical Mansion with its impressive columned portico on the south front of the House. Looking back to the beach, turn to the left and the path starts through the metal gate. This path takes you beside the river and through the trees.

Recently, Truro has seen the arrival of several new eating establishments, so how would another venue fit into this already competitive market? Well, the newest kid on the block, The Truro Lounge seems to tick all the boxes.
Open from 8.00 am until 11.00 pm every day, Truro Lounge offers a comprehensive menu to suit the most discerning clientele. The menu is extensive but the Adssmart team decided to give the Tuesday night Tapas offer a try. We were not disappointed. At only 9.25, you can have a choice of three tapas from the menu and a glass of wine. The Tapas are served with a generous portion of ciabatta bread. We can definitely recommend the honey glazed pork! If you are an early bird, then why not try their breakfast menu. What could be finer than a cooked breakfast, a cup of hot coffee and the daily papers to start the day off right. Although Truro Lounge is quite a large space covering two floors (plus an outside roof terrace), the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It is the ideal space for meeting friends for a coffee, having a family lunch (children definitely welcome), romantic dinner for two or an evening out with work colleagues. The walls are covered with paintings and mirrors, and the unusual lighting give Truro Lounge a quirky feel. The seating is varied, with plenty of wooden tables and chairs for diners, but also comfy leather sofas and chairs for a more relaxed experience.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, always returning to check that everything is ok with your meal. If you are looking for somewhere that is warm and friendly, relaxed and offers good food and drink in a chilled out atmosphere, then look no further. Give Truro Lounge a try. You wont be disappointed!

What happens next? A full medical history and images taken are then sent via secured server to a dedicated team of Doctors based in the USA who are registered Thermologists and are trained in the protocols of reading thermal images. A full medical report is sent back within days, and at the request of the client, Thermalogica can arrange for their doctor to speak directly to the clients own GP or healthcare provider. Thermalogica is a local company offering a ground-breaking healthscreening service across the South West. Thermalogica was launched last January by Cornish co-founders Terri Bainbridge and Lisa Portman, who grew up in Penzance and St. Ives respectively. The friends, and now business partners individually pursued successful careers in London, and are both now living in Exeter. At the age of 39, Terri was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Our charity for 2014 is dedicated to the RDA Chiverton group. The riding and driving group help those with disabilities. They are one of the most important charities in Cornwall, supporting people with a wide range of disabilities. They provide a therapeutic experience in the outdoors.
This helps people in a number of ways, encouraging the development of important non physical skills, such as decision making, social skills as well as providing people a sense of achievement confidence. Also there are many physical benefits too such as improving coordination. Those that participate are both horse riders and carriage drivers. This allows the group to cater for those with a wide range of disabilities. The RDA Chiverton Group was founded in 1968, in 2007 carriage driving was introduced, as well as continuing traditional horse riding, this allowed the group to help a wider range of disabilities. The group is supported by 60 fully trained volunteers helping 35 riders as well as

54 carriage drivers. The group currently operates on Mondays and Thursdays. As well as holding lessons on riding and carriage driving, the group also arranges social events such as coach trips, lunches as well as fundraising events.

After undergoing a mammoth refit during the latter part of 2013, the staff of Mercedes-Benz of Truro were joined by 150 customers to celebrate the reopening of their new showroom, incorporating a whole new level of luxury and personal service. Guests were greeted with delicious refreshments, mouthwatering canaps and exceptional entertainment from The Gershwin Gang Jazz Band. The Showroom was officially opened by their Apprentice Technician and local hero Peter Birkett.

Peter tragically lost his mother and sister at the age of 11. With the help and support of Penhaligons Friends, he was able to cope with his bereavement. When given the opportunity to participate in the One Shows Rickshaw Challenge, Pete and his father Geoff jumped at the chance, raising money for Children in Need. They raised a staggering 1,525, 974. To continue support for this remarkable charity, Mercedes-Benz of Truro will be donating 25 for each used car sold during our Approved Used Event, running from 17th January to 2nd February. To add to the excitement of their New Showroom, that night they also launched the opening of a brand new, dedicated Light Commercial Vehicle Service Centre. They also unveiled a MySevice centre for their Truro customers. This will able customers four new choices, making their service experience not only more convenient but more enjoyable and affordable.
