SECTIONS Beginners Section Berkshire players may enter if their Berkshire grade is under 600 on 30th September 2013. Non-Berkshire players may enter by special permission, if they consider themselves beginners. This section is for inexperienced chess players and is suitable for those who have had limited tournament experience. Players may not have won any tournament. There will be up to 9 rounds with 20 minutes for each player. Berkshire players games will be graded in the Berkshire Junior Chess Grading List. Open Under 10 and Under 12 Sections To qualify for the London Junior Championships, players must score 3 points to compete in the Minor, and 4 to compete in the Major. An U/8 player can qualify for the London U/8 by scoring 3 points in the U/10 section. There will be 6 rounds and 30 minutes for each player. Games will be graded in the ECF Rapid Play List. Open Under 14 and Under 18 Sections There will be 5 rounds and 40 minutes for each player. Games will be graded in the ECF Rapid Play List. Pairings: The basic principles of the Swiss system will be used for all pairings.
Parental Responsibility: The organisers accept no responsibility for any loss, theft or accident during the event. Adult supervision will only be provided in the playing areas. Parents are responsible for their children during the event, and agree to the terms and conditions in this entry form as a condition of their entry, and that a players grading information may be published electronically.

ENTRIES The entry fee is 9 with an additional late fee of 3 after Thur 17th October and of 6 on the day. For ECF Members, a 1.50 discount is available, providing an ECF Membership number is included on entry form. Trophies to keep will be given for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placed players in all sections. Certificates will be awarded to players in the Beginners, U/10 & U/12 sections. Cups to be returned will be presented to the highest placed player in each section eligible to play for Berkshire. To be eligible for a cup, Berkshire players must play in their own age group. e. g. an under 10 player playing in an older section will not be eligible for any cup.
