Teaching Experience: Malcolm Shabazz Alternative City High School, Madison, WI January 2014 June 2014 Student Teaching Experience, Cross-Grade 9-12, Social Studies. Courses built and led-taught: Contemporary Native American Issues, Life and Times of Malcolm X, Survey of World Religions, History of Women in the Civil Rights Movement. Taught in Experiential Learning model. Conducted weekly check-ins with students. Built foundation for student-centered learning to promote critical thinking, inquiry, and discussion. Planned lessons for students with 504 plans, IEPs, TAG students, and ELL students. Collaborated with teachers in and out of the Social Studies department. Worked extensively in independent groups with Ho-Chunk students. Work Experience: Anaala Salon and Spa-Wedding Coordinator, Madison, WI August 2010-April 2014 Hired as Guest Care Coordinating before being promoted to Wedding Coordinator. Collaborated with bridal parties to coordinator hair and make-up for their wedding day, as well as general customer service. Historic Indian Agency House- Educational Assistant, Portage, WI September 2008- May 2012 Built lesson plans and taught various Hands-on-History workshops; including, cross stitch sewing, hide painting, and sand painting. Researched and built the 2011 Historic Restoration Exhibit. Created new tour format highlighting the prehistoric and historic Native American experience on site. Lead tours and trained new docents. Diverse Experience: Kids Ranch-Tutor, Baraboo, WI September 2008- June 2010 Tutored 1st-4th graders in reading and writing skills. Worked with economically disadvantaged students. Mentored students in prevention and making good life choices.
