Fernandes is the writers full name who the first child of two brothers. He lives in Jl. Idaman RT 05/10 No.32A. Mustika Sari. Bekasi. He was born in Jakarta, March 10th 1991 from the couple Angkup and Entelina. His religion is Protestant. He entered the Elementary School at SDN 01 Bekasi in 1997 and graduated primary education in 2003. After that, he entered the Junior High School at SMPN 4 Tambun in 2003 and graduated secondary education in 2006. Then, he entered the Senior High School at SMAN 9 Bekasi in 2006 and graduated in 2009. Next, in 2009 the writer continued his education at the Gunadarma University until now.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS In the name of God the most merciful, praise and thanksgiving writer to the presence of God to an abundant of lover and favor, and then the scientific writing entitled, THE BLACK CAT, it has been completed by the writer with the best efforts as much as possible I can. The writer realized that this scientific writing is still far from satisfactory, related to the limited knowledges and capabilities that exist from the writer, so it is quite a lot of obstacles in this writing. However, thank God all of this can be resolved with good scientific writing and hopefully will be useful to readers. Abstract This paper is entitled Indonesian Translation of The Black Cat. The Black Cat is an English short story which is written by Edgar Allan Poe. The short story consists of 3992 words. The writer translates all the words. The aims of this project are to translate a text from English into Indonesian accurately, clearly, naturally and understandably. It is to explain how to get the accurate translation and its strategy. From this project, the writer infers that there are some problems in translating a short story such as grammatical context and vocabulary problems. To solve those problems, the writer uses dictionary.
