PENN STATE PARKINSON FOUNDATION 2013 to Present

Co-Founder/Vice President Co-Founded the foundation with help of two other colleagues; doing so involved drafting of a constitution, filling out paper work required by the university, finding an advisor, and meeting with a doctor at Penn State Hershey that is actively engaged in Parkinsons Disease research. Oversees the 104 members of the foundation and aid in the communication and planning of philanthropic events with said members as well as members of the executive board. TAU KAPPA EPSILON FRATERNITY, PI CHAPTER 2010 to Present

Active Member Actively attend bi-weekly meetings and vote on different motions and policy changes. Engaged in the recruitment of new members by attempting to sell our beliefs, goals, and vision for the future. The recruitment that was performed was done at social events held by the house in addition to personal attendance at such university sponsored events as the Greek Involvement Fair. Tutored many members in various science courses that included topics such as inorganic chemistry, inorganic chemistry lab, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, physiology, and biochemistry. Raised over $80,000 as a house every year for Penn States annual dance marathon for pediatric cancer research known as Thon. BROAD INTERVENTIONAL ANESTHESIA ASSOCIATES June 2013

Shadowing/Observational learning Observed Dr. Shaja in order to learn more about the Anesthesiologist and their role in the management of pain. I was able to observe a pain management clinic including diagnostic techniques and procedures done on patients for a variety of conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, and neuralgias.

Physicians Weight Loss Clinic June 2013

Shadowing/Observational learning Observed the centers Medical Director in order to learn more about the inner workings of a medical weight loss practice and the specific diagnostic tests and interpretations required by a physician involved in weight loss management. This also involved first hand observation of the doctor-patient interview, history taking and physical exam as well as program discussions. Summer Camp Counselor Cared for children between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Duties included ensuring the campers safety while on campus and during field trips, and creating an enjoyable summer experience for campers.
