OBITUARY

Cecil Douglas was born in Grantham, Clarendon Jamaica on April 28, 1920.
At an early age he found ways to be gainfully employed. He was ambitious and excelled at any job he
had. He related well to others; had a good work ethic, and took pride in his work. As a result he was
promoted and ended up as a Supervisor at the Citrus Company in May Pen, Clarendon where he
worked until he was in his late 40s.
Cecils desire to succeed and excel led him to immigrate to the United
States. He made his home in Boston. Once here, he was hired at Brigham and Womens Hospital
where he proved himself to be a valued employee, so much so that he was also hired by the
Administrator of Sherrill House. Cecil worked two full time jobs for many years and he never
complained. His years of hard work allowed him to create a financial base on which he built until his
retirement.
Cecil loved people and was generous and kind to a fault. As a good listener, he was able to help and
counsel others. Most of all he lived for his family.
His other love was Peoples Baptist Church where he found peace and happiness. He was very
unhappy when he missed church.
Cecil was called home to be with the Lord May 10, 2013. He will be missed by all who know him. He
left behind two children, a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, a brother and two
others who adopted him and treated him as a dad.
God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be
So He wrapped His arms around you, and whispered, come to Me
You didnt deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best
And when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain
We could not wish you back to suffer that again. (Frances & Kathleen Coelho)
Rest well, Cecil Douglas. You are missed already.
