EPC 60th Anniversary
President commenced the meeting around 3.15pm. He stated with apology that
he could not go to E.P.C Ido Ekiti; during his travel to Nigeria but said that he
spoke to Prof Osi and Prof. Ojo respectively. They did not support the idea of EPC
60th anniversary celebration due to the present condition of EPC. However, Prof.
Ekunsanmi called the National President who was able to canvass and sought
their cooperation on the anniversary. He went further to say that Nigeria Chapter
Annual General meeting was coming up on February 15 and we will be waiting for
the outcome of their deliberations. Also, the President shed more light on the
appointment of the new Principal for EPC in person of Mr. Tolu Ogunruku. He
described him as a wonderful gentleman, which is good for all of us.
Mr. Tayo Omolewa inquired about the fund raising efforts of our Alumni in
Ibadan. Furthermore, he believes the National president is moving around to
communicate with other branches, but noted that the fund-raising efforts of class
of 75 was not going well. Based on the comment made by Ms. Helen Asebiomo
that there is no real Ibadan branch. As a result, Mr. Akinola wanted us to
encourage EPCian living in Ibadan to have a branch there, and elect their officers,
which was supported by the President. Ms. Helen Asebiomo suggested that the
National President should endeavor to organize the Ibadan branch. We may talk
to Dr. Olaniyan to work with the National President to initiate efforts on forming
the Ibadan branch.
Mr. Johnson Ojo asked what we would be celebrating if we cannot tie our 60th
anniversary celebration to fund raising. In the Presidents response, he said that
we can highlight our past achievements and also use it to raise peoples
awareness that we still need more work to be done. Ms. Helen Asebiomo stated
that we will call peoples awareness to EPC through the invitation of the Governor;
his commissioner and the Obas which will be to the glory of Ekiti. Coupled with
this, we could put people like Prof. Osi, Prof Ayeni as guest Speakers. We have
purposes that need to be achieved.
The President encouraged us to make the anniversary a success. After the
anniversary, we will need structures in place, roads being rebuilt and most of the
contributed money will go to re-building the School. Mr. Faboro requested that we
should ask somebody to give us an estimate of how much it will take to rebuild the
school. Ms. Asebiomo reported that it would be to the tune of N200, 000 000 per
Prof. Osis estimates. The president stated somebody has started to raise a million
naira for his set. Mrs. Yemisi Bamisaye wanted to donate $1000 which Ms. Helen
advised her to donate to her set. Dr. Femi Adeniji stated that we have worked on
renovation of library, and laboratory roof. He emphasize that we should continue
to work together.
EPC Alumni Newsletter
The President initiated an idea of printing EPC Alumni Newsletter, which will be
edited by Prof. Familoni, who has been contacted by the president and has agreed
to do so. He encouraged anybody who has any idea on how the newsletter should
look and what should be included to forward it to Prof. Familoni.

EPC Website
The issue of website has not been updated for a while per Mr. Omolewas
statement. He suggested that he will contact the graphic person to include
fundraising in the flyer which will be uploaded on the website. He stated the cost
of running / maintaining the website is totaled $300 for the period of 3years which
we have paid for, and that we are still current
Matters Arising
He further stated that the President has paid twice on paypall which will be
moved to Bank of America (BAC) account; and that the transfer of account
signatory was finalized yesterday. However, the BAC rules stipulates that if the
balance is less than $ 3000.00, we will pay monthly fees. Bank of America will like
to speak to Mr. Omolewa on how to pay with credit cards. The president stated
that our contribution toward our National purse for the Anniversary is important.
However, Mr. Ojo Johnson clarified that individual contribution is $500. Therefore,
the president encouraged us to pay up before the end of March. He directed Dr.
Omotunde to send reminder of their contribution to all members between now
and end of next month. Finally Mr. Ojo Johnson used this medium to remind
members present to redeem their pledge.
