In first grade, our discipline plan
is designed to provide the
optimum learning environment for
each child. We discuss school
and classroom expectations with
Range Students. We spend a big
part of the 1
st
six weeks on
classroom expectations and we
expect students to follow the rules
throughout the entire school year.
We need your support at home to
ensure students are successful in
and out of the classroom. We
strive for a calm, relaxed
atmosphere, giving the students
an opportunity to succeed and be
rewarded. We also encourage
students to develop their own
self-discipline, differentiating
between right and wrong choices,
and learning to talk things out
with other students if conflict
arises.
If students make a wrong choice a
consequence WILL be given and we
will encourage the student to make
better choices during daily challenges
next time the student is at a
crossroads of right or wrong. We
Grades
I will send home daily work. If it has a
numerical grade on it, that means it is going in
the grade book. If it has only a check mark or
nothing at all from me, this just means it was
practice for the students and I did not take an
official grade. This DOES NOT mean it isnt
important or that I did not look at the work.
Also, if something comes home incomplete
and I need it completed & returned, I will
make a note on the top of the paper.
Otherwise, you may help your child work on it
at home, as you please. We do a lot of verbal
learning and testing in class, which is where I
also get a lot of grades.
First-Sixth Six Weeks
Numerical grades are given.
The grade scale is as
follows:

70 79 grade C
