In this booklet, you will find the approved course outline,


detailinghowlongyoushouldspendoneachsubjectandthe
requirements for you to obtain the sign off for the EASA
exams. Updated versions of this manual will be available to
all students. The latest version will be published on the
Online Learning Center. You should look periodically to
ensureiftherehavebeenanychanges.

GulfCoastTrainingSolutionscoursesplitsthosesubjects
intoeithertwophaseseachcontaining7subjects,orthree
phaseswiththesubjectssplit563.Therearebenefitsto
bothroutes,suchas,ifyouchoosetheTwoPhase,youwill
onlyneedtotraveltoFloridatwicefortheexaminations.If

Onceyoufeelreadyforanyofthemandatorytestsyoucan
attemptthemintheorderlistedinthisprogramstudyguide.

Shouldyoufailaprogresstesttwice,theinstructorwillthen
email you a debriefing for the answers you got wrong, and
you will then need to take a retest. The same procedure
appliestotheendofcoursetests.

topictests.Whilstthesearenotmandatorywewouldadvise
you take these tests periodically to check your
understandingofthetopicsandforexposuretothequestion
typesthatyouwillseeintheexams.

All mandatory test scores will be maintained in a student


record.BeforeyoureceiveyoursignofffortheEASAexams,
your record will be checked for completeness. Below is an
example of the student record which shows how far you

PreExamCourse

As part of the approved course all students are expected to


attend 70 hours in the classroom at our approved facility
prior to entering the examinations. This will either be 2 full
weeks or 3 partial weeks depending on your choice for
eitheratwophasecourseorthreephasecourse.

IfyouaretheholderofanICAOCPL/IR,thiscanbereduced
atourdiscretionto35hoursintheclassroom.Theholderof
anICAOATPcanhavethisreducedtozerotime.Howeverit
should be noted that this will be at the discretion of the
Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor based on the
progress and scores that you achieve on the online
classroom.

When you wish to attend the course, please contact us


about a month in advance so that we may book you in and
tellyouaboutaccommodationandtransportoptions.Please
note that not all subjects are covered every month, so
please plan ahead so that we can best accommodate your
needs.

RapidClickThruExamPreparationSection

In the Online Learning Center you will find a section which


allows you to run through the full bank of questions at a
rapid pace. This allows you to test yourself outside of the
formalityofquizzes,oneachsubjectasyouseefit.

We are constantly adding new features to this site, and we


highly recommend that you spend as much time as you can
here,andwhenyougetclosertotheexams,youshouldlook
to spend the majority of your day studying these questions.
Remember, these are the questions you will see in the real
exam.

Evidencehasshownthatcandidatesforexamsregularly
achievewithin5%oftheirscoreontherapidclickthruin
therealexam.Youshould,forpersonalachievement,be
averaging95%oneachsubjectthroughtheentirerapid
clickthru,priortoenteringtheexams.

ExamApplication

The EASA exams are only administered once per month by


theUKauthorities.ThiswillbeonthefirstMondayofevery
month but there are exceptions to the rule. You should
checktheforumsforthemostuptodateinformation.

Priortoentry,youmusthavecompletedallthemandatory
testsontheonlineclassroom,andhavecontactedthe
officetodiscussthepreexamcourse.

To enter for the exams, you will need to complete the


application and payment forms at least six weeks prior to
thefirstdayofexaminations.

check your student record for completeness and sign the
formoff.Wewillthenfaxittotheauthoritiesforprocessing.

RemembertouseBLOCKCAPITALSwhenfillingintheform
andtosignpagestwoandthreeoftheapplicationform.

You may apply for the exams prior to attending the pre
exam course but at that stage you must have passed all of
the mandatory tests. Results of the exams are received
within10workingdaysstartingthedayafterthelastexam.

ExaminationAmendments

Once you apply for the exams, the authorities will charge
you for the exams you have been signed off for. If you
changeyourmindonthesubjects,andtheChiefTheoretical
Knowledge Instructor agrees with your decision, the
followingrulesapplytoamendmentstoyourapplication:

Examsmaybeaddedtoanapplicationprovidedthat
theclosingdateforexamshasnotpassed.
Exams may be removed from an application greater
than10workingdaysfromthefirstdayoftheexam
sessionforanadministrationfee.
Exams may be removed from an application up to 1
working day prior to the first day of the exam
session,butallfeesforthatexamwillbelost.

Please note, that Gulf Coast Training Solutions requires a


minimum of three working days notice in addition to the
timelinesaboveforanyamendmentstoapplications.

ExaminationProcess

Theregulationsdictatethetimingandrulesforexamination.
The exams are sat once per month at the CAA approved
exam centers. A list of these centers can be found on the
Online Learning Center along with the examination briefing
sheet provided by the authorities. However there are a few
regulationswhichyoushouldbeawareof:

All exams must be completed within 18 months of


thefirstexamination
You cannot attend the exam center more than 6
times(calledasitting)tocompleteall14exams
Youcannotattemptanyexamsmorethan4times.

If you do not pass all 14 exams within the above limits, you
willloseanyexamsalreadypassedandbeginanewseriesof
exams.Inthiseventyouwillberequiredtocompletefurther
training to include not less than 60 hours and any other
requirements at the discression of the Chief Theoretical
KnowledgeInstructor.
