EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Issue of employee retention affects the performance of the entire company. The ability to
keep good employees is rapidly becoming a critical competitive weapon. Organizations are
realizing that their people are, by far, their most important asset. Employee retention is a process
in which the employees are encouraged to remain with the organization for the maximum period
of time or until the completion of the project. Employee retention is beneficial for the
organization as well as the employee. A good employer should know how to attract and retain its
employees.
This study focuses on a study on employee attrition in the company. Most employees feel
that they are worth more than they are actually paid. There is a natural disparity between what
people think they should be paid and what organizations spend in compensation. When the
difference becomes too great and another opportunity occurs, turnover can result.
The objectives of the study are to analyze the existing problems prevailing in the
organization with regard to the various reasons for employee attrition and to analyze the
influence of demographic variables on the primary reasons for leaving. To identify, suggest and
evaluate exiting measure to control employee turnover.
The research taken for this study is descriptive and the sample size considered for the
study is 150. The respondents are from various departments (Production, Human resource,
quality control and stores) of the company. The sampling technique used is Quota sampling and
the data is collected through Questionnaire method. The statistical tool used is percentage
analysis and Chi-Square, Correlation & Weighted average method.
