Deployment is the process of using


personel in an effective and efficient way

Defination: Retantion is process in which

Defination: promotion means upward


movement of employees from current job
to another that is
1. Higher in pay
2. Higher in responsibility
3. Higher in status and organizational level
Purposes of promotion

To encourage good working environment


To improves workers and institutions

To increase selective socialization
To maintain proved training, skills and
ability
TYPES OF Promotion

1. Vertical promotion: Under this type


promotion of employees is moved to
higher level in the organizational
hierarchy with higher responsibility,
authority, pay and status
2. Horizontal promotion : only increase in
salary
Basis of promotion

Seniority bases: Under this basis promotion


goes to most senior employee as she or
he is fit for job
Merit bases: Under this basis promotion is
given to those employees who are more
qualified , or have ability,efficiency,skills
and past employment records
