Introduction
A sym bol and logotype are visible and
im portant parts of the graphic standards
used by an organization to identify itself.
A n effective logo is one that says som ething
about an organizations style,purpose and
values.
The C EA logo represents energy,
inform ation,and technology.
Identity Standards Components
The success of the C EA identity program is
consistent usage of three graphical guide-

I the logo
I consistent typefaces
I consistent color palette
Basic Elements
The C EA identity consists of three parts:
I the energy burst
I the logotype
I C EA nam e
A lw ays use all three of these elem ents
together.
D o not m anipulate the C EA logo in any w ay.
The logos proportions have been
carefully designed.C ondensing,expanding,

on disk.
To ensure readability, the sm allest perm itted

your project w ill m ainly be received by fax,
do not use the logo any sm aller than 1-5/8
w idth.

Color usage
The C EA identity colors have been
selected to present C EA as a leader in
the technology industryconveying a
professional,high-tech im age.
In applications that do not include iden-
tity colors, print the entire logo in black
or reverse it out of a solid color.
If m etallic colors are not available, use
the Pantone M atching System (PM S)
equivalent colors suited for the paper
stock being used,or the process color
equivalent. For internet application, use
the RG B equivalent.
A lw ays produce the logo in its
approved identity colors,all black,or

color to all w hite. The logo is never to
appear in any other color or w ith any

Background Graphics
The only exception to the prohibition of
using the elem ents of the C EA logo
separately is w hen the energy burst is used
as a subtle background im age.W hen using
as background art,the burst m ust be at least
500% larger than the C EA logo appearing
on the sam e docum ent.
The C EA logo as w ell as the energy burst
m ay never be used in a w allpapereffect.
Contrast
W hen using the energy burst as a graphic
background elem ent on a w hite background,
the burst should be printed at no m ore
than a 10% ink screen. If the burst is
appearing on a solid color background,
the burst should print at 80% of the sam e
background color.
