Emily Williams had always like Kyle Parker. She had always thought
that it was one-sided for her. She never expected Kyle to harbor the
same feelings for her as she is to him. Who would want a plain woman to
be their girlfriend? Well not Kyle.
But little did she know Kyle also has feelings for her. The same as
he is Kyle thinks that he is out of her league. The shy type smart girl from
his college days. While he was a jock and only been successful because of
the company he inherited. In time, they will realize.

EMILYs POV
I groaned as I woke up with the alarm blaring on my right side and
switched it off. I really hate waking up in the morning, go to work and
just repeat the same routine all day. The only thing thats keeping me
away from leaving work is our boss.
I know, it might sound weird but I have this huge crush on our
boss. Ive known him since we were little kids. We went to the same
school until college.
You might think that Im a stalker but Im not. It just so happened
that we applied to the same university and that actually made me happy
though we werent really in the same class. And now I work for him as his

secretary. Dont get me wrong again but when I applied I didnt really
know that I would be working for him.
The place I work at is the Parker and Co. Enterprises. Its a
company that is owned by the family of my long time crush. Yes, and his
name is Kyle Dylan Parker, the companys very own CEO.
As I arrived, I made my way to my desk in just beside the office
doors of Kyle. He doesnt know anything about my crush for him though.
Good Morning, Hailey, early again are we? a voice boomed beside
me while I was busy checking for the schedule of the day. As I looked up
his face was almost near mine. A blushed had formed on my face, Well
of course Mr. Parker. After all, a secretary has to do her job smoothly,
right?
Quite right but didnt I tell you yesterday that you can come late
today? Thats right, he had said that but being the nerd that I am, I just
cant help but show up to work early and finish the things that I need to
do.
I remember that quite clearly sir but I want to finish everything on
time I said while focusing my attention on the documents in front of me.
Youve been like this ever since college. Wanting to finish
everything on time, chuckling he made his way to his office door and
disappeared.

The clock is nearing lunch break. All I ate at breakfast was a toast
of bread and then drove directly here. I heard a clicking of high heels, as
I looked up I saw Anna, heading her way towards Kyles office. She likes
clinging to him though she isnt his girlfriend. Sometimes, Kyle would even
tell me to shoo her off away.

Excuse me, Ms. Moore but Mr. Parker is on a meeting at the
moment, hes not in his office and will be quite busy when he comes
back
He will spare a minute or two for me, hun, she said with the
bitchy tone that she often use. I rolled my eyes mentally and continued, I
dont think so, and he has a lot of things that he needs to finish. He cant
even spare a time or two for his own lunch.
You are just his secretary and I am the daughter of one of his
stock holders, she said and trudging towards Kyles office. I sighed and
waited for my lunch break.
One tough chick she is huh?, people lately been sneaking up on
me while Im doing my work. Shrugging I looked up to see my officemate
Bianca, Yeah, she is. Used to it already
I never really like her. She doesnt even have all the brains

I mean, look at her! Shes filled with her fathers money. From head
to foot.
Yeah. I know.
And shes even all over your first love, can you believe her! she
finally said while I looked up her with a shocked face, I can really see the
smirk building up on her face. Well that caught your attention, she said
chuckling.
What are you thinking?! I said looking from left to right if
someone had heard what she said. What if he passed by and heard it?
First, no one will hear it, mostly all of them went to grab a lunch.
Second, he wont hear it because, we havent even said any name. Hell be
pretty assuming if he thinks its him and third lets go and grab some
lunch Im starving. I guess shes right.

We arrived at the restaurant that we usually frequent and sat at
our usually seat. Im really starving I could eat a whole table, I rolled my
eyes at Biancas remarks. Seriously, she has an appetite of an elephant yet
she still maintains her curves.
You eat a lot without gaining any weight. I envy you, I told her.
Its true. I look like Ive been pregnant five times already. Even mothers
might be sexier than me. Hush! You have your own curves! You just hid
them under that un-sexy corporate attire of yours. Again I rolled my
eyes at her. I was about to argue with her when the waiter arrived.
What can I get you?
I would like to have a Fresh Papardelle Pasta and water. What
about you Ems?
Apple Pecan Steak Salad for me, the waiter listed our orders and
told us to serve our lunch at 15 minutes tops.
Our orders had arrived and we started digging in to our food. We
finished our meal and went back to the office.
As I started going through the files that needed to be sorted, Kyle
had called me through the intercom to come to his office. I knocked
three times and waited for an answer. Mr. Parker? I called.
Yes, please come in. I opened the door. Please, have a seat He
had motioned for me to seat on the couch.
I have this business meeting three days from now and I need you
to come with me.
Excuse me? did I heard that correctly?
I said, I need you to come to a business meeting with me
repeating the same thing that he said, humor evident on his handsome
face.

But why do I need to go? I dont usually go with you on your
business trips he stared at me and then I realized I just talked back to
my boss. I mean! Im sorry! on cue, a blush formed on my face.
He smiled, Its fine. No need to apologize, the reason is because
there will be multiple meetings and some arranged dinners. It will be for a
week. I was about to tell him that I can just help him with that from
here but he cut me off, And I wont say no for an answer. I sighed in
defeat.
Alright then, anything else? I asked.
No. Thats all. Thank you he said smiling. With that I stood and
made my why through the doors.
I slumped in my seat pinching the bridge of my nose. The only
reason why I dont want to go because it means that we have to ride a
plane and Im not a fan of airplanes.
Whats up with you now? I stared at person who just spoke and
saw Bianca holding a bunch of papers, probably for signing. Nothing. A
little stressed out I told her. She rolled her eyes and placed the papers
on my desk. Youre always stressed out. So whats the catch this time?
Hurry before my boss starts looking for me I smiled at the thought of
her boss finding her here again. She always does that.
Well, Ill be going on a business trip with my boss for a week. She
raised her eyebrow.
Whats wrong with that?
Nothing.. well I mean lets not talk about this. I already said yes
anyway. I stammered. I dont want people to know that Im afraid of
heights.
I saw her lips curve up in a smirk, Afraid are we? I stared at her.
Could you please leave me alone? Get those papers to your boss

She held her hands up in defeat Alright, alright Im going. Tell me
the details okay? she made her way through the elevator and winked
before the doors closed.

Its already 5oclock and Im ready to go home. I packed my stuff
and texted Bianca if shes also going home.
From: Bianca
Sorry cant will be staying till night so many
work to do. Go ahead
Sighing I placed my phone inside my bag and headed towards the
exit. As I stepped outside I noticed that its raining pretty badly. I didnt
even bother bringing an umbrella or my car with me.
Great. Just great I muttered under my breath. I was thinking of
waiting for the rain to stop when I noticed a black Mazda parked in
front of me. I didnt know who owned the car until the owner rolled
down the window.
Want a lift? Im thinking that this rain wont stop for about an
hour or two
No its fine. Im going to wait. Its not really nice for a secretary
and a boss to be in a car with
He rolled his eyes. I stared at him in disbelief and he just chuckled.
That deep sexy chuckle that made me blush. I cant believe he just rolled
his eyes on me.
Please I insist he said with a wink.
Dont I have a say in this? I asked not being able to hide the smile
forming on my face. I guess not? So go in? I did what he said and I went
inside his black Mazda.
So where do you live? he asked me breaking the silence.

Oh yea, right about 2 blocks from here. I live alone in an
apartment I told him. Not living with your parents anymore then?
Obviously not. He stared at me and was about to say something
when I cut him off, Eyes on the road, Even if youre hot and handsome
I still couldnt believe you will take me with you on that business trip.
Though, I want to be alone with you. Bad thoughts!
Look, I need someone to be with me there. And youre the most
reliable secretary I have, So I didnt have much choice but to bring you.
Im guessing you dont like planes or you just to like to be alone with me I
stared at him almost jumping into my seat. While the nerve of the guy just
laughed at my own expense.
After five more minutes we had arrived in my apartment Is this
it? he asked. Yeap I said popping the p.
Thanks for the ride, Mr. Parker I was about to open the door
when he spoke again, Wait. I stared at him waiting for what he was
about to say, Can you please not call me Mr. Parker when its just the
two of use, we were after all collegemates
I-uh! Ill try. Thanks, Kyle. I smiled and went out of the car. So he
knows?


Today is the day that well be leaving. I had finished packing my
stuff since last night. Im really nervous yet at the same time excited.
Nervous because this will be the first time Ill be on a plane, Excited,
because Ill be with Kyle Dylan Parker.
I checked my phone for the time, its 7 oclock. I was about to head
to the airport when Kyle called and said that I should just wait here. My
phone vibrated in my hands. Its him.

Yeah, I think everythings packed
Good, Ill be there in 15 minutes I stared at my phone intently.
Hes picking me up? I cant believe it!
For the past 10 years of me knowing him this will be the first time
that Ill be with him outside the office doors.
At about 15 minutes, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and
saw the gorgeous Kyle standing in front of me wearing a v-neck shirt and
jeans. Not his usual attire with the formal coat and tie.
Uh Hi? Are you ready to go? I didnt realize that I was staring at
him as my face turned red I answered him, Yes, sorry. Ill go get my
stuff. I didnt wait for him to reply and I went to grab my things.
Let me get that for you I didnt know that he followed me here.
He was about to grab my bag, No its fine. I can handle it.
Rolling his eyes he said, Sure you can. By looking at it I could tell
you packed a lot, and by the looks of your body youll have a hard time
dealing with this baggage, checking me out from top to bottom.
Pervert! I told him.
Chuckling he turned on his heels, Lets go, well be late for the
flight.
On our way to the airport and Im really nervous. I dont know how
to hide my fear of planes. I fished out my phone from my bag and texted
Bianca.

Seriously nervous. Help!

I rolled my eyes as I read Biancas message. I could really see her
smirking at me while typing the message.

Youll be fine! Hes there! Oopsy gotta go.
My Boss saw me texting during work.
Tell me about your flight later, kay?
I put my phone back inside my back and slumped in my seat while I
can see Kyle sleeping from my peripheral vision. Well, what an awkward
ride this is.


Sitting quite comfortably in my seat, Ive checked if my seat belt is
fine and looked at the window. Beside me is Kyle, reading some
magazines.
This is my first time riding a plane, and not just any plane but a
private plane! Owned of course by yours truly, the person who is sitting
next to me.
Im looking around when the pilot had announced that we are
about to depart as he turned on the seat belt sign, I can feel my body
shivering and I closed my eyes.
I saw Kyle looking at me. First time or afraid? he asked.

I can say both. I feel his body move beside me and my body tensed
when I held my hand. Dont worry. Youll be safe. Close your eyes and Ill
be here the entire time.
I did what he said and before I even know it, I fell asleep.


Hey Emily! Wake up, were here. I heard someone calling my name
as I slowly open my eyes.
Wake up sleepy head.
Are we here? I asked.
Yes so get up, were heading to the hotel.

We arrived in the hotel after 15 minutes, Kyle was at the
receptionists desk. Whats taking him so long to get a booked room? I
muttered another my breath while heading towards this direction.
Whats wrong? I asked.
He sighed in expiration before turning to me, Seems like they only
have a room available he said. What do you mean? staring at him not
really understanding whats wrong with it. Then it hit me.
A room? You mean, only a single room? No other room left? I
asked wide-eyed. He nodded. That cant be I turned to the receptionist
.I called and specifically ask for two bedrooms.
Yes Maam. And we are terribly sorry. We might have misheard it.
We sincerely apologize Maam, Sir.
I heard Kyle sigh, What should we do then?

No other choice but to take the room. There will be no other
rooms available till next week.
So, were stuck together for a week in a single room?

We arrived in our rooms and I started unpacking my stuff not
saying a single weird. Being with this man around in a small room is not
healthy for me at all.
Okay so Kyle started, You take the bed while I take the sofa. I
nodded as he continued on opening his laptop.
Please check my schedule for today. I fished out my phone from
my bag and checked for his schedule today.
The only schedule you have today is a meet-up with Mr. Smith
from Home Experts Corp. at 7oclock in the evening and for the rest of
the day youre free.
Alright, take a rest first.
Its fine. I had slept for the whole duration of the flight. Im not
tired at all.
Are you sure? I nodded and started packing my things again. If
you want you can roam around. We still have a lot of time before seven
Its okay. I might get lost. He chuckled. Still no sense of
direction? I stared at him with wide eyes. Remember first day of college,
I gave you the directions to you building yet you ended up in the deans
office because you really got lost.
I blushed. I remember my first day full well. He was the one who
gave me directions but I just cant find the angel fountain he was talking
about so I circled the whole campus.

it? Its been like 7 years ago! he chuckled. Yes but I cant just forget it
especially when I saw you looking like a lost puppy inside the office.
Shut up Kyle! now he erupted in laughter. I stared at him in
disbelief. Is he laughing at me? I want to cry. Did I do something wrong?
He might have seen my expression because he stopped laughing almost
immediately.
Hey Ems! Sorry. I just cant help it. You were looking so cute back
then that I wanted to adopt you. He called me cute? My heart is now
beating so loudly. Does it mean he likes me too?
Oh stop it, Emily! Someone like him cant like you! As I was
absorbed in my own thought his phone ringed.
Cursing he answered his phone, Anna Im on a business trip. Im
not here for a vacation No! Just stay where you are.. Ill be back in a
week.. Yes that long.. Im hanging up now. Yes.. yes.. Bye Anna Pinching
the bridge of his nose he slumped back to his seat.
Anna? I asked.
Yes, shes ranting about why I didnt bring her with me I smiled.
Yeah, why not just her. Anybody could go here with him and just check
on his schedule that I could have prepared before he leaves.
Having that thought sent pain in my chest. I should just move on
from this first love thing of mine. Im no longer a high school student. I
sighed and continued unpacking


We arrived at the restaurant 7oclock sharp where we will meet Mr.
Smith. As we went inside we were lead to where he was seated.

An old man, about his 50s stood up from his seat and greeted us.
Ah yes! Mr. Kyle Parker. Good to see you the both of them had shook
each others hands when he turned to me, This must be Ms. Emily
Williams? I nodded and shook his hand.
Please, take a seat
As the two of them discussed about the contract all I did was
listen and list some important details that they have point out.
An hour had passed before they finished their conversations and
Mr. Smith stood up, Well, send me the contract and I will sign it
immediately. Dont forget the party on Friday. You need to be there with
that, they shook hands and Mr. Smith left.
Tired?
Nah. I just got bored. Sorry. I wasnt supposed to act this way I
said a blush again, formed on my face. He chuckled, You wanna go
somewhere? Its still early
Where?
Do you drink? I shook my head, Nope popping the p. Then try
it! Lets go and get some drink he grabbed my hand almost immediately
and went to his car.
Before getting inside he opened the door for me, Get it, I slid
inside the passengers seat as he made his way to the drivers seat. Kyle, I
dont drink! I dont know if I can handle alcohol. I told him.
Then Ill make you try it. Dont worry! Just this once. He said with
a wink and drove off.
We arrived in our hotel room and ordered a wine and some food.
Our food came after 30 minutes and we started eating. When we were
done with our food we settled in the mini living room and he poured me
the wine.

Go on, just try he urged me. I smelled the wine and it has this
sweet aroma of grapes. I took a sip and scrunched my nose. It had a
bitter taste in it.
Its not that bad, right? he asked me. I guess, just a little bitter
taste in it I told him. Of course, its wine after all.
So Ems, Is it okay if I call you that? he waited for me to answer, I
guess its fine he then continued, What is it like working in our
company? he asked me.
Its fine. I mean, all Im doing is check your schedule, attend
meetings that you cant go yourself, make coffee, photocopy documents,
remind you of the things you need to do. You know, typical secretary
stuff
I never really thought that you would be just a secretary at my
company he told me. I stared at him not understanding what he meant.
Well, youre really smart. In college all you do is stay inside the library.
Youve graduated with an award, I only had this job because of my family.
So why?
Because I wanted to be near you. I had this dream that you could
see me, that we could be together but of course I cant say that, I just
want a simple job. Thats all
You could do everything with that brain of yours. Heck! You
could even be a model with that body and face of yours! I blushed at his
remarks. Is he saying Im pretty? My heart did a flip dance but of course I
shouldnt lower my guard.
I already told myself that Im moving on. After this Ill write a
resignation letter and probably go find a work or start my own business.
Im not pretty, Kyle.
Yes you are. You just have to fix yourself up I looked up at him
and for the minute there I saw something in his eyes. I just cant put a
finger into it.

It wont work. Besides, I dont know how to put make up on. Its
true. I cant barely put my own lipstick. Trying to change the topic I
asked him, What about you, if you didnt inherit the company, what will
you be?
Wouldnt that be obvious? he asked me. A professional football
player of course. He had been the athletic type in college even in our
high school days.
I smiled at him, I guess you really love football. Ive watched you
play a couple of times during college
So youve watched some of my games?
Of course, you may not have noticed as Im unnoticeable way back
then until now I laughed. I think the alcohol is hitting me already.
As I looked up at him I saw him stare at me and smile, What? I
asked him. He shrugged. Nothing its just that I like you better laughing.
I never saw this side of you.
Because I dont let others see it I told him.
Because you never gave them the chance to get to know you
No one will be ever interested in someone as simple as me, Kyle.
And Ive learned that the hard way. There will always be someone. You
just have to look around you I didnt notice that he was only a mere inch
away from my face and I could already hear my own hearbeat.
The next thing I knew, his lips landed on mine, kissing me very
passionately. Is this the effects of alcohol? Im seriously going to regret it.

I felt someones hand on my tummy and I woke up with a jolt. I
opened my eyes and saw Kyle in bed with me, naked. Something happened
between the two of us!

I groaned and I couldnt help the tears flowing from my eyes. Damn
that alcohol! I tried to pry his arm from me but I cant. Sobbing I released
his arm. It might be loud because I felt him stir in his sleep.
He might have realized that it was from a person beside me
because he opened his eyes and stared at me. Oh shit!
I cant say anything but to cry. Emily! Im sorry. I never thought
this would happen. Lets.. lets fix ourselves first and talk, okay? I
managed an okay but I still cant help the tears flowing from my eyes.
About an hour we were sitting in the hotels restaurant. He
ordered a breakfast for the two of us. I couldnt even look him in the
eye. I respect myself, and all it took to get my virginity is one drunken
night!
Look Emily here it comes! The lets forget about it stuff hes
going to say. We never really expected that to happen nor wanted it. I
just nodded.
I dont know what to say, really he continued. Emily, look at me I
cant. Tears are starting to build up in my eyes. Please I turned to look
at him.
Lets just forget about it. Its just a drunken night. We never knew
it would happen a pang of hurt had hit my chest. I never knew hearing
him say it hurts more than just thinking about it.
That was my first time. My virginity was stolen from me! And hell
just say that! Im not expecting for him to marry me or something. Just
some words of encouragement at least.
You want me to just forget it? as tears flowed from my eyes,
anger coursed through me.
That was my virginity Kyle! trying to keep my voice low for others
not to hear our conversation. Good thing that we are outside and not

many people are eating here. Just one drunken night? Im not expecting
you to marry me or anything. But hearing you say that hurts!
Its like Im just one of your play toy! A one night stand! And after
this, what? Act like nothing happened? Im being unreasonable but I
dont care/
Ems, youre not a play toy. Was all he had managed to say. Just
leave me alone! I stood up and ran outside. I dont know where to go. I
dont know where my legs would take me.
I tripped and I didnt even bother standing up. I just cried and
cried and cried. I might just be over reacting. But that wasnt just
because he screwed with me. Its because reality had really hit me.
I felt someone near me, I looked up to see if its Kyle. And yes its
him. He hugged me and I can smell his expensive perfume. Dont cry. Im
sorry for saying that, okay?
He helped me stand up and I just realized that many people were
already staring.
Here he gave me a bottle of water and I never realized how
thirsty I am from all the running and crying.
Im sorry. I told him. We sat at a bench in the park. What for?
I shouldnt have acted that way. I guess youre right. Lets just
forget about it. Like professionals that we are I faced him and smiled. It
hurts but Ill get over it.
At first he was hesitant. Bipolar much? He was the one who told
me first that we should just forget about it. He sighed and agreed,
Yeah. That wasnt supposed to happen
I nodded in agreement. Before we went to eat Ive checked your
schedule I informed him. You did? I nodded. Yes and it seems like
today is a free day for you. You actually have a lot of free days. Why is
that?

He sighed I guess youve caught me, I think. My purpose here is to
relax aside from the ball and the meeting with Mr. Smith.
I dont get it, why did you let me come with you then?
Because you need one too. You wouldnt even use your vacation
leave for the whole year so I thought that I should just bring you here
instead
Well, thank you. Despite the thing that happened last night I feel
really relieved. I didnt do too much thinking or paper works. Just minor
stuff and the view here in London is quite nice. I might get used to it.
Dont mention it
We strolled along the park watching children and other people
have fun. We didnt talk much except that my heart is thumping heavily in
my chest because hes holding my hand.
Ive tried prying it but his grip is really firm. I cant say that Im not
liking it, but the weird thing is, I am. I guess I should just treasure this
moment because this will be the last that I would feel this way. I sighed.
Somethings wrong? he asked me. I shook my head Nothing, I just
dont know what to think of us
What do you mean? I stared at my hand that he had been
holding. Im sorry. Are you uncomfortable with that or something? I
shook my head again. No, I feel safe.
It only had been a day that we were together but many things
already happened I chuckled. I know.
We finished eating lunch and arrived at our room around 1 oclock.


Our third day here in London and today is the party where he is
supposed to go. Its a party for rich people. Kyle had left early to jog.

Oh hey! Youre up! when I turned to looked at him I didnt realize
I was already staring at his body. Seeing something you like? I could see
him smirking at me. No I then quickly turned away.
I could hear his muffled laughs from here. Just to remind you, we
have a party to attend later this evening I rolled my eyes. Let me remind
you that I know very well the schedules. You dont need to remind me.
He raised his hands up in surrender, Alright alright. Im taking a
shower he went inside the bathroom. The bathroom door opened and he
poked his head, Dont worry about what youll wear. I had it covered
As on cue I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and saw the
bellboy holding two paper bags. This will be for you Maam I thanked
him and proceeded to look whats inside.
It contained a beautiful silver v-neck dress that is two inches
above my knees. It has an opening at its back. The other bag contained
the same colored four-inched stilettos that matched the dress.
I was staring at the dress I didnt even notice him coming out of
the bathroom. You like it? he asked.
More than like. Thank you so much!
Its nothing. I owe you a lot. Now I cant wait for the party to
start so I could wear the dress that he had bought.
Im getting ready for the party. Seemed like Kyle hired someone to
style my hair and put make up on my face.
I cant really see what I look like because my back is facing the
mirror. A few more touches and voila! Youre ready the stylist said.
I turned and saw myself face to face in the mirror. Is this really me?

As I entered the mini living room Im feeling quite nervous. Will he
like it? What will his reaction be?
Im here. I told him. He stared at me so intently and again I saw
something flash in his eyes. He cleared his throat. Lets get going.
He didnt even say anything. Yeah. We sat in silence inside the car
until we arrived to where the party was.
Its full of people. Rich people. Wearing designer dresses, shoes and
bags. We headed a table where some older men including Mr. Smith and a
young man were sitting.
Mr.Parker is here with his secretary Ms. Williams. Come have a
sit Kyle had pulled a chair for me. I was in between him and another
young man the same age as me maybe was seated.
I didnt know you have gorgeous secretary, Parker. Ill double up
the pay that Kyle here gives you, what do you say? Although I didnt
know him. His remarks still made me blush.
Back off, Chad. Shes my girlfriend
Your what? I cant help but react to what he had to say. I dont
think she agrees with you, Parker. Kyle rolled his eyes.
Were just not into an understanding tonight. He squeezed my
hands under the table as if to say, just get along with it.
Uhm yeah. I am. Just had a few bickering. But were fine. The
other two gentlemen were watching us in amusement.
You make quite a couple. At first I really thought that youre his
girlfriend when I first met you last Wednesday. The two of you have this
chemistry. I guess you were just under professionalism that night? Mr.

Hey Kyl I felt pain hit my chest. Ive been so stupid. I saw Anna
kissing Kyle. Kyle had pushed Anna but she had her arms wrapped around
me.

What are you doing here?! Anger is evident on his voice.
Coming to pick you up of course. So why are the two of you in the
same room? she asked eyeing me really intently.
Dont worry about it. Its because there had been some errors in
the booking. I told her not looking at Kyle, afraid that my tears might
fall.

had slapped me. Shes right. He might have had said that because of what
happened between us. Youre right I turned on my heel when Kyle

Anna and Kyle had gone out due to her request. Kyle had been
finding a way to talk to me but of course its really easy to avoid him
especially when his little girlfriend is there to prevent him from going near

For the whole afternoon, I just cried. Until theres no tears coming

The next day we had left London and went back to New York. I
was really silent the whole ride. I insisted on riding a taxi rather than Kyle
dropping me off my house and see Anna all over him. That would be like
slowly killing myself.
I refused all of his calls, emails all attempts to talk to me. I dont
wanna talk to him. Tomorrow Ill file a resignation letter.
That night I have started typing the letter, I really want to do this
yet my tears tell me otherwise.


I woke up with an uncomfortable feeling. It had been like this for
almost three days now. I hurriedly went to the bathroom and discarded
whatever dinner I had last night. Slight nausea hit me when I stood up.
It had been three weeks since I resigned. Bianca had texted me
that he had been bombarded with questions by Kyle. I also had moved to
a new apartment.
I threw myself on my bed. I might be pregnant, immediately my

I opened my drawer and got the Pregnancy Test that I bought

tested. I waited until I saw two pink lines appear. It means, positive. I
really am pregnant.
I couldnt believe this. One drunken night and we had already
conceived a child. Tears start to flow. Though I know that I need to be
strong and raise the child but I couldnt help but to cry. This is our child
that he will never know.
I quickly dialed Biancas phone number. As she answered only my
muffled sobs could be heard. Wait for me there, Hun. Im coming over
was the last thing I heard before she hang up.

A few minutes later she had arrived. Im now wearing my pink pjs
and I look like a total mess from the crying. Oh my gosh! What happened

I told her everything from the beginning to the time that we went
back here. I even showed her the pregnancy test. Im sorry to hear that
hun. Youll do fine as a mom we were talking about the things that
happened when the doorbell rang.

Before I could even realize who it was Kyle had already engulfed me in a
hug. I missed you! Why? Why didnt you let me explain? Why had you left?
I didnt even know that tears had yet again started to fill my eyes.
It might be also because of hormones. Hey Ems, who is it? Bianca came
out of the living room.
Oh. I guess I better be going before she left. She mouthed good
luck to me. I know what she meant by that.
Kyle had let go of the hug and faced me. Why Ems? I couldnt
even look him in the eyes. Look at me. I stared at him tears still flowing
through my eyes. He wiped it and kissed my forehead. Stop crying.
The moment you saw me and Anna kissed. I didnt know what to
do. She had kissed me first and I didnt kiss her back if thats what you
thought. I even pushed her. You saw that. But you still left.

I dont know really. I thought I was so stupid to believe that you would
like me. And it crushed me when I saw the two of you kissing.
He sighed, You didnt believe it when I told you that I really had
liked you way back? I nodded and again he took a deep sigh. What I said
was true Ems. Thats why when you applied to be my secretary I almost
immediately hired you.
I smiled. Really? I asked stupidly feeling like a lovestrucked
highschooler.

What do you want? I asked. Just a glass of water. I went to the
kitchen to get him a glass of water when realization had dawned on me. I
left the pregnancy test there when I showed it to Bianca.
I hurriedly went back to the living room but its too late. He had
seen it. Youre pregnant? I nodded. Since when?
I had the test earlier this morning. Look Kyle, if you dont want
the child. Ill still keep it. Dont worry. If you dont want anything to do
with him or her. Ill leave the state for good.
He was silent. I want to cry again but it took all of my will power
not to. He stood up and was mere inches away from me. I didnt expect
