OVERVIEW
This presentation includes three assistive technologies used by
Franklin County High Schools Special Education Department for
students with Individual Education Plans. I will also present an
assistive technology used by myself for students enrolled in the Air
Force JROTC (AFJROTC) program.

The Director of Special Education (Butner, 2014) and Lead Special
Education Teacher (Giel, 2014) informed me that DynaVox, Lexia,
and Mobymax are being used at FCHS. Each system will be
reviewed.

I will review the Classroom Performance System (CPS) utilized for
curriculum instruction by AFJROTC instructors to teach Aerospace
Science and Leadership.

AIR FORCE JROTC CPS
CONTINUED

A disadvantage was that it could
not easily be installed on the
classroom laptop by IT personnel.
Another disadvantage is that my
lessons must be presented from the
laptop with the system loaded.
Students enjoy using the clickers
versus paper and pen to answer
questions.

NETS-T STANDARDS
AND POWER POINT
All NETS-T standards can be achieved through
the use of power Point
1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and
Creativity
Teachers can build slide presentations on current issues and
engage students in providing fixes to complex problems.
2. Design and Develop Digital Age Learning
Experiences and Assessments
The Power Point slides in the CPS are interactive providing
an onscreen real-time formative assessment of the material.
