Strange Things Happened at Halloween The emergency number in the UK is 999, but on Halloween this year it wasn't only being used for the Police, fire and ambulance services. The British police have reported many calls about ghosts, witches and werewolves. In one call, a woman rang police to complain her partner was trying to put a spell on her using witchcraft. A man dialled 999 to say he was being poisoned by a satellite controlled by witches, while a boy rang up to say he was himself a wizard. A taxi driver complained that his wife was a werewolf, and a man called police to ask for the Ghostbusters because there was something strange in the neighbourhood. The police have promised to keep a closer eye on supernatural reports in the future.
Bear breaks into house after smelling soup in the kitchen A couple have been rescued by police after a bear broke into their holiday home to eat some freshly-made soup. The curious bear was attracted by the smell of the beetroot and meat soup after the couple went to bed. Luckily, due to decorating work inside the house, the couple were sleeping outside in the bath-house when they heard a loud noise. Their neighbours saw the bear and called the police. When the police arrived at the house they fired a warning shot into the air to scare off the hungry bear who ran into the forest.
Abandoned Dog rescued with Google Maps An abandoned dog has been rescued in Los Angeles after a woman saw the dog on Google Maps Street View. A woman contacted an animal care group and told them where she had seen the dog. The dog, who has been named Sonya, was rescued from outside an abandoned building. Sonya was shy and hiding under a truck when she was found. But she was happy to eat up the bits of cheeseburger she was given by the rescuer. Sonya was then taken to a vet where it was revealed that she had several tumors and arthritis. She was given medical treatment and eventually taken in by a foster family.
Virginia Man Wins Lottery Four Times A Virginia man recently won the lottery, again! A man from Virginia USA has just won $500,000 in a lottery scratch card game. In 2005, he won $1 million in a similar game, and the same year he collected a $500,000 check. A year earlier he won $25,000. He's now won a total of $2,025,000. Unsurprisingly, people are calling him "Mr. Lucky." When asked to explain his luck, he said he's just in the right place at the right time. The man retired from the postal service in 2007. When asked what he does with the money, his response was, "I invest in myself".
Forgetful husband pays for full-page advertisement declaring his love A man who forgot his wife's 40th birthday has avoided her anger by placing a whole page ad in his local newspaper saying simply "I love you." When his wife realised that the message was for her she forgave him. There was nothing on page 28 of the local newspaper except for the small message in the bottom right hand corner saying 'I Love you'. "I did not actually forget about her birthday but I ran out of time and did not meet her expectations," said the man, who does not want to be named. "She was very unhappy with me, to say the least. "She had arranged my 40th birthday a few months ago and that was fantastic. She was very upset, and I did not want to just give an excuse, so I decided to take out the advert."

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Nothing defines us like our sense of humour. It also helps us to select the people we want around us on a day-to-day basis. When people say they have a good sense of humour, what theyre really saying is that they are good fun. Laughter helps release endorphins in the body which act as a natural painkiller, but only the genuine, unforced kind of uncontrollable laughter which comes with real amusement. Laughter also builds up our immune systems. Our individual sense of humour is influenced by our friends and the experiences we have. Our sense of humour evolves over time depending on what we watch, who we see and what we find funny!
Blind Pilot Causes Panic I flew to New Zealand five years ago. There was a blind man on board the plane with his dog, a golden labrador. We stopped in Kuala Lumpur to re-fuel and take on more passengers. While we were waiting, the pilot took the dog off the plane for some exercise. When the passengers saw the pilot wearing sunglasses and with a guide dog, they thought he was blind and they panicked and started running for the exit.
