Inductive Voltage Transformers
Introduction
Trench is a recognized w orld leader in the
design and m anufacture of high voltage
equipm ent for application on electric
utility and high energy industrial system s.
A s part of Trench's product scope, the
C om pany produces a diversified range of
Instrum ent Transform ers w hich are
installed on 69-800 kV electrical system s.
Instrum ent Transform ers include: Voltage
(Potential) Transform ers (both inductive
and capacitive type), C urrent Transform ers
and C om bined Instrum ent Transform ers
(voltage and current transform er in one
unit).
Voltage Transform ers m ust convert trans-
m ission class voltages to standardized
low and easily m easurable values, w hich
w ill be used for m etering, protection and
control of the high voltage system . A s
such, the need for accurate and reliable
voltage transform ation is essential.
This brochure w ill detail the features and
characteristics of types VEO T and VEO S
inductive type Voltage Transform ers.

Trench types VEO T and VEO S
Inductive Voltage Transform ers are
designed and constructed w ith the
w ell proven, highly reliable, oil/
paper insulation system . Each
porcelain housed, herm etically
sealed Voltage Transform er is
equipped w ith stainless steel
expansion bellow s, calibrated to the
internal oil volum e and extrem es in
am bient operating tem peratures.
For voltage classes up to 300 kV,
the type VEO T is offered. For ap-
plications above 300 kV, Trench
offers the type VEO S design. The
VEO S is designed w ith a prim ary
w inding w hich is located in the
m id-point of the structure. This
feature serves to reduce the dielec-
tric stresses and
ensures optim ized
voltage distribution
w ithin the trans-
form er. Please refer

VEO T and VEO S
units.
