Obstetric fistula is a childbirth injury
Caused by, obstructed labour,
without timely medical intervention
typically an emergency Caesarean section.

causes damage to the soft tissues and creates
a holeor fistulabetween the vagina and the
bladder and/or rectum.

During the International Day to End Fistula,
participants at the high level reception at UN Hdqs,
guests watched Australian singer Natalie Imbruglias
innovative Jing on obstetric fistula. Natalie is a
spokesperson for the UNFPA-led global Campaign to
End Fistula.
