Find the resultant of any force systems.
Isolate any body/structure and draw the complete free-body
diagram.
Solve for unknown forces on a body in equilibrium.
Determine reactions and internal forces in statically
determinate trusses beams and frames determinate trusses, beams, and frames.
Construct internal force diagrams.
Construct influence lines and determine the maximum load

Guidelines
Homeworks
Will be posted after each class, due at the beginning of the next class. p , g g
Written, typed, or printed on A4 paper.
Discussion with friends, lecturer or assistants is encouraged.
However, submitted works must be your own, not a copy of someone
elses work.
Some homeworks will be graded by close book quiz at the due date.
Tests
You are allowed to bring one sheet of A4 paper. You can write
anything on both sides of the paper (no photocopies!).
You are responsible for bringing your own writing and calculation
tools.
