Call for Walk-in-Interview for Project Positions
Applications are invited for a walk in interview to be held in the Conference Hall of Centre for
the Environment on 4
th
August, 2014 at 10:00 am for the following positions.
1) A temporary position of JRF (One) in a project entitled " Establishment of Institutional
Biotech Hubs by DBT under special programme for North Eastern States of India funded by
Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India tenable at the Centre
for Environment, IIT Guwahati.
Scale of pay: Either one of the Scales of Rs. 12,000, Rs. 14,000 or Rs. 16,000 (Consolidated)
depending on the qualifications as per guidelines issued by DST and HRA 20% p.m.
Qualification and Experience: Candidates with M.Sc/B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent degree in any
Biotechnology/Life science/Pharmaceutical science or related subjects.
Terms: Appointment will be initially made for a period of one (1) year and may be extended for up
to maximum duration of the project.
2) A temporary position of JRF (One) and Research Associate (One) in a project entitled
Aptamer probes for detection of celiac disease epitopes of gluten in commercial varieties of
Indian wheat, rye and barley. funded by DBT, GOI tenable at the Centre for Environment, IIT
Guwahati.
Scale of pay: For JRF- Rs. 16,000 + HRA for GATE/NET/BET/BINC qualified candidates or Rs.
12,000 otherwise + 20% HRA p.m. For RA- Rs. 22,000 + 20% HRA p.m.
Minimum qualification: For JRF: Candidates with M.Sc/B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent degree in
any chemistry/Biotechnology/Life science/Pharmaceutical science or related subjects. For
Research Associate-I: Ph.D. in Chemistry/Life science/Biotechnology.
Terms: Appointment will be initially made for a period of one (1) year and may be extended for up
to maximum duration of the project.
Application & Selection procedure: Application on plain paper giving all educational
qualifications and details of experience with photocopies of relevant documents must be submitted
either in person or by post to the following address on or before the date of interview. Selection
will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview. Candidates have to report to the
undersigned at 9.00 am on the date of the interview. Candidates will not be sent any interview call
letter separately.
No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for appearing in the interview.
